Used for about 5 mins and the magnets fell out, left unsuable. poor quality and obviously never tested by Eastwood. why would you degrade your brand with this type of poor quality product???Quality Price Value -

Works excellent as a backer for plug or butt welding. I produced very good plug welds as a beginner after using these practicing for about 10 min. The magnets suck though. They lost their hold as soon as the copper got warmed up. I just took another magnet & backed them up or would clamp them in place if needed. A bit pricey though for just a couple of peices of flat copper. Not much to manufacture after all. Certainly the cost isn't in the magnets used. Only negs are price & magnets.Price Value Quality -

I had the magnets pull out after getting the copper hot from welding too and the magnets seemed to have lost their magnetism after that also. The copper is heavy and works well to weld against but as has been stated, they don't bend and I find thier use limited. I bought 2 large, flat magnets to hold the plates in place and have also used clamps to hold them. I will be purchasing the flexible wedges for use on fender repair for better contour conformity.Quality Price Value -
Seemed like a good idea ...

These consist of a nice piece of heavy copper. They works well on very flat surfaces only. It will not conform to surfaces that are not flat so magnets will not adhere to the workpiece. The magnets are held into hole in the copper by a pressure fit. I got mine so hot that he copper expanded and some of the magnets fell out. When I tried to press them back in the magnets broke into pieces.Value Quality Price -

Been using these restoring my MGB. Worth the price. Makes life a lot easier welding. Makes a good backing, heat sink.Price Value Quality
wish the magnets were larger and stronger.. but they are acceptable. If the surface is not flat, you can clamp them in place
Nice heavy pieces. very well made.
Everyone in the autobody class I am in borrows them. Once they use them, they buy them. Wish I got a commission from Eastwood!!
The peices are great. More shapes (long and thin, or wedge shapes would be helpful for those closed in and hard to reach areas.
These are a must have for your welding toolbox
