About Original Hotcoat Powder Coating Gun
Why powder coat? Because it gives you one of the most economical, color-durable, and longest-lasting finishes available. You'll find powder-coated surfaces are far more resistant to chipping, scratches, fading, and wear than other finishes, and the color selection is virtually unlimited, with high and low gloss, metallic, and clear finishes available. And thanks to the UV resistance of many of the powders, colors stay bright and vibrant longer. Texture selections range from smooth surfaces to a wrinkled or matte finish, plus rough textures designed for hiding surface imperfections.
One 8-oz. bottle of powder (not included) covers the same area as 2-3 cans of spray paint, and clean-up is easy, since you can simply sweep-up the oversprayed powder. Contains no environmentally harmful solvents. HotCoat powder coating requires a 5-10psi compressed air source and dedicated electric oven (or toaster oven). Imported.

(A) For improved flow out (less "orange peel"), bake coated parts at 500 degrees F until powder flows out (about 3-4 minutes for light sheet metal parts), then turn down the heat to 400 degrees F for a full 15 minutes.
(Q) How can I improve transfer efficiency?
(A) The 10128 HotCoat High-Performance Deflector greatly improves transfer efficiency. Use the Standard Deflector for getting powder in recessed areas.

Powder Coating Gun System
Review by GTRACER -
Price Value Quality I have been using the original powder coating gun system for nearly 2 years. It gives wonderful results and is extremely easy to use. I use a dedicated large size home stove oven for heating and curing. I have made a portable booth for applying the powder that keeps the "overspray" in check.
I prepare the items to coat using my beadblaster primarily. The powder adheres tightly to the heated and grounded part during application and flowout/curing is quick with the oven.
I highly recommend the system and I find the selection of powders to be adequate for my needs. The finish is extremely tough and is holding up well in antique and race car applications.
The cleanup is very simple, just sweep up the excess powder. -

Amazing!

Price Value Quality I just used my powder coating gun for the first time and couldn't believe the results - totally awesome! After bead blasting and washing the parts, the actual powder application is simple and fun. I have an older kitchen range set up in my cellar and it has a digital readout for temperature and time. My spray "booth" is a large cardboard box with a hole cut in the top and an oven grate in place over the hole for hanging the parts.
This has got to be one of the coolest, most fun tools I've ever bought and it will pay for itself in a very short time. I highly recommend it! -

Amazing!
Review by TomK -
Price Value Quality This gun is unbelievable! From the very start, I had incredibly good results powder coating some of my motorcycle parts. I had no experience and no training, but I read the manual, followed the instructions carefully, and the parts came out beautiful! I've done a bunch of my own parts as well as quite a few for friends. They are thrilled with how nice everything came out. Last year I paid a powder coating company a good deal of money to coat parts for me. This gun has already paid for itself several times.
The key to having good results is thorough preparation. Make sure that you have blasted off all paint and rust before you clean everything thoroughly. I use Eastwood's metal wash and outgas my parts in the oven before I coat them.
I've attached a couple pictures of my work.
Go for it and have fun! -

Great gun for the price
Review by Dave -
Price Value Quality Great gun for the price. I coat a lot of smaller parts. This gun gives nice adhesion, not very much overspray. My first gun that I bought six years ago was an older Chicago Electric gun, and I *thought* that it was pretty good. Well, it died last fall, so I was forced to replace it. So I again tried the Chicago Electric guns, and they weren't very good. I took a chance on this gun, and it is WAY better! Super easy to clean, easy to use, nice spray pattern. This is a good value. The quality is pretty good.

Price Value Quality Great product!! from a guy that has never powdercoated before, this gun, the prep materials, and the powders gave me a new hobby, and the stuff I've coated so far has turned out excellent. buying this kit will save you a ton of money letting you do it yourself as opposed to taking it to a pro shop.
highly recommend it! -

good entry level gun
Review by Chris -
Price Value Quality I wanted to try PC'g for a long time so when the demand came I choose this gun and an old toaster oven to start.
Two things I would say are important to follow, distance from your part and have plenty of space or a fan with a filter on it to suck up the excess powder cuase it goes everywhere. -

Price Value Quality I had my gun for little over 1 year and just recently have used it alot and it is awesome. I am thinking about buying another one so I can have the 2 colors I use the most ready to go. I put a tray under my part and try to recapture most of the overspray
