About Eastwood 4 Inch Reversible Air Cut Off Tool

This tool is a must in any shop doing restoration projects or other metal fabrication. You'll use it for cutting patch panels, fabricating steel plate, removing damaged frame sections or simply cutting rusted bolts free. Finger-controlled knob offers "on the fly" speed adjustment that reduces wheel hop and prolongs cutting life by adjusting the speed to the type and thickness of material being cut.

One of the most important features is the reversible cutting direction. If you've ever used a grinder or cut-off tool where you could not control in which direction the sparks fly, you'll appreciate the ability here to reverse the cutting direction to send sparks away from you. No longer will you have to reposition your body and head at awkward angles to avoid spark contact—simply flip the switch and the sparks fly 180 degrees away from you, others or flammable objects.

Safety guard can rotate 45 degrees either direction. 15" long overall; weighs about 1.5 lbs. Utilizes 4" Metal Cut-Off Wheels (sold separately) with 3/8" center arbor hole.

(A) Uses 10 cfm of air at 90 psi, and operates at a maximum of 15,000 rpm. Reversible wheel rotation allows you to control where the sparks fly. Safety guard can rotate 45 degrees in either direction to get into tight areas. Cuts approximately 1/4" above surface.

Do not use to cut fuel tanks, oil tanks or any object containing flammable liquid or gasses. Always were eye, head and hand protection when using this tool.

Sick of getting blasted in the face? This reverse feature is the bomb. I build metal sculpture so I'm always in weird positions and I never have enough reach. Problem solved! Killer Product

I have been wanting this tool for quite some time but hating to spend the money. When Eastwood offered 25% off I bought it. I am very happy with this tool. It has good power and I love being able to reverse it if I need too. I like the length of the tool as it can get into tight places. The clamp that holds the guard on is made of I think a nylon type of plastic so you can rotate the guard easly by hand without any tools if you need to to control the direction of sparks somewhat and help get into a tight place. Great tool Eastwood.

MY FIRST TASK WITH THIS TOOL WAS TO CUT OFF A PIVOT ARM ON A SEMI TRAILER AXLE- WHAT A TIME SAVER. THE TOOL IS SMOOTH AND HAS PLENTY OF TORQUE. IT GETS BORROWED A LOT IN THE TRUCK ALIGNMENT SHOP WHERE I WORK.

I get so tired of having just one direction on my regular grinding tool. It seems like they make it so it will rotate in the direction of your eyes.
I love the option of the reversable. You can stay in one position while cutting and not have to move to go in the other direction.
This is one tool everyone should have.
It's about time someone came out with this tool.

Finally...! A cut off wheel tool that has a reversable drive system. I don't know how many time I have put up being sprayed with hot grinding sparks simply because the cut off tool only ran in one direction... Now cutting thru a panel or even chopping a frame rail is so much easier than before... Plus, the added reach of this tool allows you to get up into difficult areas and cut rusted bolts and straps with ease... This tool will pay for itself many times over in just the time saved in aggravation and time wasted trying to get something cut free or removed. Buy this tool... It'll be you new favorite that you reach for from now on.

The thing that sold me on this tool is the ability to reverse it. I have been talking to power tool reps for years about reversable grinders and they look at me like I'm nuts. I just tell them "you don't have a clue what that tool is used for . You have never done fabracation work or repair welding on equipment or trucks" Even if the tool did not reverse I would still call it a great addition to my tool box. A very handy tool! By it, use it, love it!!
