    Details

Underhood Black™ is the perfect lacquer paint for the correct OEM-matching finish under the hood...choose semi-gloss or matte Underhood Black™ Semi-Gloss is just the right 10-20 percent semi-gloss finish for most radiator supports, inner fender walls, underhood brackets, and other underhood parts. The Matte formula duplicates the near-zero gloss finish you find in many older cars for those parts. Both formulas resist chipping, scratches and light impacts.
    • This underhood paint has exceptional adhesion for an engine-compartment paint
    • Just degrease parts first for a factory-like finish
    • 11-oz. aerosol can covers 6 square feet; 1-quart can covers 48 square feet
Customer Review: "I'm building a 1969 Yenko Camaro. I have the subframe and arms powder coated. I used Underhood Black on the engine bay and the underfloor. You cannot tell the difference between the powder coating and the Eastwood paint...amazing results! Looks factory-new now."

    About Eastwood Underhood Black Paint

Underhood Black is the correct shade of black underhood spray paint for engine-compartment paint on radiator supports, inner fender walls, lug wrenches, jack bases, underhood brackets and other parts. Black underhood paints from typical hardware stores are either too thick, too glossy, or the wrong color.

Just clean, degrease, and prepare the parts well (use our Self-Etching Primers), then apply this engine-compartment paint for a professional, factory-like, underhood paint finish. Acrylic lacquer withstands up to 250 degreesF and goes on thin for a smooth finish that doesn’t hide surface details. Do not use with enamel primers.

Due to regulations pertaining to paint recycling, at this time we are unable to ship this product to Alberta, Canada.

    FAQs

    Q. How do I apply this underhood paint?
    A. Surface must be clean, dry, and free of dirt, grease and oil. For maximum protection, first prime with a self-etching primer or epoxy primer before top-coating. For best results, use when can is between 70 and 90 degrees F. This engine-compartment paint may be used over bare metal, self-etching primer, or Rust Encapsulator.

    Safety

then paint isn't as good as it used to be also it took 14 days for it to get here after paying more for shipping and HANDELING than anywhere else I buy parts and equiptment from. I have to say I am done doing business with your company for good

the paint sprayed on as a mottled gray and black. When I emailed them about it they immediately offered to send another. The second can worked as expected but the problem cost me at least a month with all the shipping and waiting for warm enough weather. Hope the warranty on the rebuilt trans doesn't run out before I get it back in.

The new formula is terrible. It does not cover well, it's too thin. You could thin the old formula 100%. You could make 2 quarts from one.
The new one is too thin to start with, and the price is the same. You won't be happy with it.

This paint has the best correct finish / gloss compared to OE but being Lacquer has little resistance to scrapes or chemicals.
Attention Eastwood's - Best if this was available in a Urethane for durability!! I'd keep several cans for spares / touchups.
