Customer Review:
"This is a great product but you really have to use it with the Extreme chassis black primer..Buy both of them if you want a good finish."

About Extreme Chassis Black

3 times more resins make it 3 times more durable than our original Chassis Black coating. This maximum-durability formula offers improved resistance to brake fluid, fuel, solvent, chips and scratches.

For improved adhesion on clean, bare metal, first prime with Extreme Chassis Black Primer (aerosol 11193Z; quart can 11194ZP; or gallon can 11195ZP). For rusted metal, first prime with Eastwood Rust Encapsulator. Allow 15-20 minutes between coats of Extreme Chassis Black; can be re-coated at any time without lifting.

I had a rad support sandblasted and I applied DP epoxy primer to the support. I waited about 2 hrs. prior to applying the Extreme Chassis black paint. It went on nice. That was about 2 weeks ago. I began to assemble the truck, and I went to blow the dust off the support and paint came off . there was no adhesion to the epoxy primer at all. Has anyone had this problem with this material?

I used this on my 1970 corvette frame and various suspension parts after being sandblasted. I first sprayed on rust encapsaltor as a base coat. It went on ok, but i would probably use the 2 part epoxy primer if I did another frame, the epoxy primer is an awesome primer, with great adhesion. The final outcome was just simply awesome, this paint is the bomb man. I sprayed 2 coats over the encapsalator. I ended up restoring a motorcycle frame and decided to use the same system as my car, but with epoxy primer as the first coat. I highly recommend this paint, but use a spray gun & compressor. The cans are good for touch ups.

bought two quarts as a kit and it included the encapsulator, well i used the rust converter, the encapsulator, and then the chasis black extreme...needless to say i was kind of disapointed, the paint is simular to rust-o-leum, it was thin as water, seemed to have no thickness, it covered, it did the job so ill see how it holds up

Used this as a top coat for various parts. Goes on easy with a foam brush. Leaves a very glossy almost powdercoated look. If you like using a brush on product for chassis parts this is it. Def surprised at how great it covered, and left such a awesome looking finish. Recommended

this stuff is just what i needed. did the whole frame on my 79 trans am with 1 and 1/2 cans "thats 3 coats by the way" the price isn't that bad for what you get. i used there encapsulator primer as a base and this as a top. Ive hit the frame with a hammer "by accident" and nothing, no damage. great stuff will by constantly.

Great product. I used the Gloss Black. Superb finish. Had friends look at frame after it was sprayed and they could not believe I used a spray can. Frame was sandblasted and then primed with Eastwood primer and then top coated with the Extreme Chassis Black. Thanks Eastwood for a great product.

The Extreme Chassis paint in the spray bomb covers real well. I used Rustoleum Rusty Metal primer even thought the frame really wasn't rusty. Even thought the paint is a "little" pricy, I think it is worth it. There is a lot of coverage from one can. I bought 2 and I think it will be enough. I also bought a qt. can "just in case."
