    Application

Chassis Black auto chassis paint is a durable, high solids paint that can be applied to bare metal/primed surfaces. Chassis Black works great over bare metal, Chassis Black Primer, or Eastwood Rust Encapsulator. Allow 15-20 minutes between coats. Recoating after 12 hours will preserve the same gloss level. After application, the object should dry overnight before use. For best results, use when can is between 70°F to 90°F, 50% or less humidity. DO NOT topcoat Chassis Black with Chassis Black more than 45 minutes after last coat as lifting may occur. DO NOT use Chassis Black over single-stage Self-Etching Primer.

    Safety

Always wear eye, skin and respiratory protection when painting. Follow label directions and consult MSDS for specific warnings.

I have used this product for several years on my antique cars. It has worked well on chassis, waterpumps, etc. I allow 48 hours to cure, but at times have done 24 hours . It sprays on even and I recommend it for many jobs, just start with a clean dry surface before painting.

This chassis black covers real well, sprayed or brushed. Has excellent chip resistance and once dry can be wiped and cleaned without any problems. It will maintain it's nice satin sheen.

Product sprays out nice and wears very well. You must follow instructions after use if you want to use the spray product at a future time. It does not spray well after storage for more than 9 months.

The finish of this product is as good as factory finishes. I spray it over a good coat of primer and I haven't had any problems with scratching as others have. My only complaint is the drying time is very long. I too have had 2 of eight cans plug up but I found that the product needs to be shook for a long time before using and frequently during use. I have used it on all my 64 T-bird front suspension and will use it on the rear suspension also. On rusted parts I use Rust Encapsulator first then Chassis black for the top coat for a very tough finished product.

Paint works well, gives a tough finish. I used it on suspension parts and assorted hardware. Painted nuts and bolts held up to installation without chipping. Coverage is good - give a light first coat then follow with 1 or 2 regular coats. Parts do need 24 hours to fully dry. Paint is not very chemical resistant, lacquer thinner will easily remove dried paint.

We used this paint over Rust Encapsulator and were very happy with the results. The sheen is perfect and the coverage is excellent. Highly recommended.

I bought the satin chassis kit that included the primer. I applied to sandblasted frame. I read the instruction and wiped the frame down thoroughly with prep spray between paint and primer. Turned out very glossy. I can see reflections in the finish. Looks a little ridiculous on my old pickup truck. By satin they actually mean ultra gloss.
