Use it for an after blast wash but not to prevent flash rust. I’m restore old British motorcycles and glass blast all the spokes, nut, bolts and hardware in preparation for cadmium plating. Parts went right from the blaster to a Metal Wash bath and then dried with a heat gun and placed in sealed zip lock bags. Also tried air drying, and blow drying. Within 2 days flash rust has set in meaning I have to start over in the blaster. Talked to my plater and was told to use WD40 instead. He has no problem washing WD40 off prior to plating. This stuff is fine for a wash but worthless for flash rust protection. It has caused me a lot of extra work.

I have been using this product for over 5 years right after I remove a piece of steel from my blast cabinet. I bow the part off and then rinse the part down and then blow it dry. You can see is washing away any left over media dust. Once the part is dry I can prep and powder coat the item. It does a great job of keeping rust away for weeks and that is also a big + for me.

A little bit of powder in the spray bottle, add water, shake, and presto! Great for final wipe down of bare metal before priming. Be careful to avoid breathing the dust when taking the lid off, it's probably not good for you, so where a dust mask when miking to be safe. Will keep rust away on bare metal, but not forever. Eastwood advertises about three weeks of corrosion protection on bare metal and that's sounds about right (based on my experience).

I have been using this for years after blasting my parts to be painted or powder coated. I always blow it off and it gives me protection from flash rust and protection from handling. Great to have handy and it goes a long way.
