I just finished painting my 1989 Jeep Wrangler YJ with the Rat Rod Paint. Its still in the shop, but the paint looks very cool, and as long as your don't paint it when it is very hot and humid, it applies smoothly and evenly. I have had numerous compliments on the paint (and the job), and I haven't even had it out on the road yet. I would recommend this paint to anyone looking for a unique finish to their ride.

It needs to be at least suggested that you will need a reducer. The description of the product indicates the Urethane and Activator are all that will be needed. My first attempt was with the Urethane and Activator alone only to have to order the Reducer later. The label on the Paint and Reducer suggest using the Product Information Sheet for paint gun settings and more specific mixing and application instructions of which a copy was not sent. Just suggesting. Thanks

Like other review stated, this stuff is THICK! The directions say nothing about thinning it. I found out the hard way. I'm using Eastwood Concourse with a 1.4 tip. I used to paint on a regular basis but its been a few years. Anyway, this has been an orange peel nightmare! Painted my hood three times and it still has bad orange peel. I have had better results with rattle cans! Anyway, I should note the extra part reducer on the third attempt seemed to help. But still lots of orange peel. I did turn down the air pressure since thats is typically the cause.....I tried all air pressures still the same problem. I'm thinking its still too thick. Any advice is appreciated.

Gave it 5 stars on price and value because chances you will find satin urethane and hardener in a kit for this low of a price is slim to none. Value, it performs as good as the best in the price range

Quality I would say is good for the price. Needs to be thinned quite a bit, regular old urethane reducer worked for me. I had some laying around. With just the activator/hardener and paint its extremely thick @ at 68º ambient temp.

When mixed up 4:1:1 with reducer it sprayed well out of a 1.4 tip but could have used a bit more flow. Don't know if it was the paints fault or maybe it could have been reduced slightly more.

Coverage was great, super black, covered extremely well in just two coats. I finished with three coats.

As most single stage paints this self leveled quite well, leaving a super smooth finish with almost no orange peal once dry.

Took a few hours to go from high gloss to reach full satin.

Overall I give this product an A-

    Would like alittle better flow.
