Applies easily: simply remove loose rust with a wire brush, then spray-on Eastwood’s Rust Converter. Allow to dry, then top coat it with a quality coating, such as Eastwood’s Chassis Black. Well, these sprays are ok, if the rust is only surface/topical. For that it works pretty well. I was hoping to repair a few difficult to reach spots and coat with Rust Encapsulator. Not so well. The thicker rust, I brushed with a wire brush as advertised and sprayed it down. The edges where the rust was very superficial turned black... as advertised. The heavier rusted areas just got minimally darker. No additional change. I decided it had to be that the rust was just too thick and cut the offensive areas out, or rather stopped at 2 spots as the rust was discovered to be just slightly thicker than the superficial rusty areas.Price Value Quality
If your project has difficult to reach areas, where you just cant get to the spot to clear really good, I'm hitting it with Encapsulator. If the spot is a floorboard that I just don't want to mess with, I'll use Rust convertor.
I am very pleased with Eastwood parts and service. I have purchased sprays, paints, chemicals and a welder from them. This is a reputable company and I appreciate they're expertise and selection. -
Rust Converter So-So

The first coat went on OK, but the second coat is on it's 3rd day and it's still tacky to the touch. I've had a fan blowing on it for the past 36 hours with no appreciable change. I may use acetone to try and remove it and either start all over or find something different to use as a rust inhibitor.Value Quality Price -

It worked as advertised on one coat, but the second coat is on it's 3rd day and still is tacky to the touch. Don't think it will ever dry at this point, especially since I've had a fan blowing on the frame rail for 36 hours with little change. I'm going to try acetone to remove it and start all over. Mediocre result so far.Value Quality Price -
