About Dual Voltage Powder Gun Starter Kit

Why powder coat? Because it gives you one of the most economical, color-durable, and longest-lasting finishes available. You'll find powder-coated surfaces are far more resistant to chipping, scratches, fading, and wear than other finishes, and the color selection is virtually unlimited, with high and low gloss, metallic, and clear finishes available. And thanks to the UV resistance of many of the powders, colors stay bright and vibrant longer. Texture selections range from smooth surfaces to a wrinkled or matte finish, plus rough textures designed for hiding surface imperfections.

One 8-oz. bottle of powder covers the same area as 2-3 cans of spray paint, and clean-up is easy, since you can simply sweep-up the over-sprayed powder. Contains no environmentally harmful solvents. HotCoat Powder Coating System requires a 5-10psi compressed air source and dedicated electric oven (or toaster oven).

Use a disposable dust mask when handling or applying powder. Powder, like common flour, can be explosive when suspended in the air in high concentrations. To minimize any explosion risk, sweep up—do not vacuum—powder from the floor. Cure powder in a well-ventilated area. The urethane powders we sell liberate a very minute amount of isocyanates when the powder flows out. This usually occurs about 3-5 minutes after the part is placed in the oven to bake. Wear a respirator with fresh cartridges when curing or inspecting flow-out progress.
1-year mfr's. warranty against defects.

Designed, engineered and tested to Eastwood's specifications.

This is the first time I used a powder coating gun at all, that being said I thought this product performed flawlessly. It is much easier to powder coat parts well than to paint them. When I was powder coating some larger parts I had a little trouble getting powder into the smaller crevices so I switched the gun over to the lower voltage and the powder stuck to the part without any trouble. The dual voltage options is definetly a plus to have. The starter kit was great. But it is only a starter, I'd recommend buying more tape (although aluminum foil works great for larger areas.

Would definetly recommend this product to a friend.

I would highly advise anyone looking to do some powder caoting to use this gun. I have done pulley's in gloss black and they are outstanding. I dropped one of the pulley's on the concrete to test it and while it did mark the surface, it did not break through the coating. I am starting to do pieces for my friends because of the way the finish looks. I have also used the blasted aluminum with great results as well. Stay with the dual voltage gun..it will come in handy!

This is my first try at powder coating and I went with the Eastwood dual voltage kit. Setup of the gun itself was very easy and the instructions were simple. I would recommend a beginners book on the subject. Preparation of the part to be PC is VERY important. My first project was an aluminum differential cover. I first cleaned and degrease, then media blast and then used Eastwood's chrome and clear powders. Attached are some shots of the cover.

Would definitely recommend this product to a friend

This was my first time powder coating anything. This kit is pefect for a beginner. I tried reflective chrome first and I am very pleased with the results. Prep is the key, before and after pre heating. I will recommend this kit to anyone starting for the first time. Thank you Eastwood.

Two weeks ago I knew nothing about powder coating and now I wouldn't buy spray paint again.I've now powder coated a number of items on a custom reverse trike including the extended swingarm, a-arms, and spindles and it looks great and was really easy to do. Having the dual voltage really helps get into tight places and I'm amazed at how far 8oz of powder will go as I still haven't used all it came with. A sand blasting cabinet is a must to get the old pain off and ensure clean metal. The aluminum wheels are next. I'm confident they will look just as good. Thanks for a great product.
