Black - Nice Black! (Posted on 4/30/12)

I do like the finish - soft luster of this black. Has a soft non-gloss finish without being like a flat black that shows finger prints and grease. This "Underhood" black is one nice paint. When I lift the hood the paint accents and contrasts with out showing dust and grease on the finish.
Used HVLP out in the back yard (open air/full sun) placed parts on saw horses. I mixed it well and mixed some more, makeing sure all the pigments were in suspension as I poured to fill the gun. Heavy bottom pigments in the can - was easy to mix and use. Out in the April sun I found it best to lay down final wet coat and leave it alone to cure. Let the finish flash off uniform. You would think parts were factory new by the finish

I searched for that proper sheen of black for my 66 mustang, I was concerned about doing all of that media blasting to make it perfect, and then getting a paint that did not match the proper sheen on my 66 mustang. Well I must say that this paint is perfect. It looks awesome, and applied over their epoxy primer, it seems to be cured very well and it seems very durable. Just remember to let the paint cure for about 5 days because the epoxy takes time to cure especially in colder weather, I am very happy with the results.

I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THE RESULTS AND EASE OF MIXING AND APPLICATION. AT FIRST I THOUGHT NO WAY WAS THERE ENOUGH TO DO THE JOB BUT THE HVLP GUN SET AT THE RIGHT PRESSURE FOOLED ME! I WAS ABLE TO DO THE WHOLE FRAME ON MY 49" CHEVY PICKUP, THE INNER FENDERWELLS, FRONT AND REAR AXLES AND MUCH MORE. I WAS GLAD TO HAVE THE SPRAY CAN FOR TOUCHUP AND IT MATCHED PERFECTLY. WHEN THE PAINT DRIED IT WAS HARD TO SCRATCH AND LOOKED GOOD!
