About Eastwood Gel Rust Dissolver Gallon
Eastwood's Gel Rust Dissolver harnesses the powerful rust-dissolving properties of our popular liquid rust dissolver and put them into a clinging gel. This tacky gel adheres to large surfaces and dissolves rust without having to submerse the metal in a tub or bucket. Ideal for roofs, deck lids, hoods, frame rails and more. Eastwood's Gel Rust Dissolver is easy to use: simply wire-brush off the loose rust and scale, and then apply the gel with a brush; it penetrates deep into the metal, dissolving the rust overnight. (Can also be used with submersion if desired.) If you're going to top-coat the surface, we recommend first using our 10041Z PRE Painting Prep to remove any residual dissolver.
Gentle enough for use on engine parts; harmless to copper, brass, aluminum, solder, lead, plastic, rubber, wood and vinyl.
1-gallon jug.
Always wear eye, skin and respiratory protection. Use in a well-ventilated area. Consult MSDS for specific safety precautions. Make sure cap is tight before storing product.

Submerged OK... / Coated & Wrapped Not Okay!

Coated a body panel with light to moderate rust areas. Wrapped panel with plastic wrap as suggested. 24 hrs later some rust was removed. Areas with light rust seemed to need more applications.Value Quality Price
Submerged nuts, bolts and a spring, in a container. The product worked much better.

I tired the rust resolver gel and it really does work.Quality Price Value
I was impressed with this product. Just apply it and let ist set for a few hours. It works while you are doing other things. Come back, rinse, scrape, reapply, and walk away. Once the rust is disolved you do need to clean, prep and paint the area quickly or everything will just turn rusty orange again.
On heavier crusty rust I applied it multiple times, rinsed and scraped between apllications for best results. It did seem to weaken the old factory black engine compartment paint which started coming off when I hosed it down.
On a surface rust spot on the body I applied it just two times. I was careful with it and it didn't affect the paint on the body.
