About Eastwood MIG Welder 135 Amp

MIG 135 welder is designed for the home hobbyist and light fabricator. Welder comes complete (except for the gas cylinder) and ready to weld 24-gauge to 1/4" mild steel and stainless. Welder has a 20% duty cycle at 90 amps, and 25-135-amp welding range. Feeds wire at 39"-468" per minute, and has infinitely adjustable wire speed and heat settings. Includes a precision-drive motor, regulator with hose, wire, tips and accessories...just add your own cylinder of CO2/Argon. "Quick Set" weld chart specifies settings for each material thickness, eliminating guesswork and assuring complete penetration. As far as the welder goes its unbeatable for the money. My review is more for customer service.
Ordered my mig135 and it was promptly delivered by FedEx. However, FedEx left package on front step and some passerby liked it enough to snatch it up. Leaving me slightly annoyed to say the least. After a couple of phone calls and a little run around from FedEx I called Eastwood and lo and behold a person answered. Once they took over I received my 135 without any other delay. I am now a customer for life. Thank you

I have stick welded for many years and am looking forward to MIG. Videos and price sold me on Eastwood's MIG 135 over Chicago Electric and Hobart brands. I ordered on Friday and it showed up the next day - FANTASTIC service!! Unfortunately the unit they shipped me was dead on arrival. The highest voltage setting it barely causes a spark. The wire turns red hot and but it doesn't weld. Yes, the electrical and gas connections are all correct - it's really pretty simple and would be difficult to mess up. I left a voice message for tech support but I don't blame them for not calling me back on the weekend. I'll deal with it tomorrow, on Monday. I'm sure Eastwood will make it right, it's just very disappointing - especially for my 16 yr. old son who had his first MIG project all ready to go. If I have to pay return shipping on to get this corpse back to Pottstown, I guarantee there will be sparks flying then!

I am a professional fabricator with 10+ yrs experience. This welder will cover just about all home projects you could throw it's way. But the gas system has some bugs, the first unit I got had no gas flow at all, the second worked for about a week then a gas solenoid causes free open flow. Although the company has held true to the warranty, and replaces the units free of charge it has become annoying. Hopefully the next will not have any bugs! Great product for the beginner!!

just got my mig 135 today haven't had a chance to use it yet still have to get my gas bottle , I have used other 110 mig's before but the weight on this one is heavy compared to all the others I have tried . Going by the rule of thumb my dad tried to teach me the heavier the better the quality

I've owned this welder for about a month now and am thrilled with it so far. After using a Harbor Freight 90A welder for a few weeks I knew I needed something better. I tried out my friend's Lincoln Handy Mig, and was just about sold on it, but the infinitely variable voltage control was what really sold me on the Eastwood. Now after using the MIG135 for a few weeks, I honestly feel I made the better choice. So far I've used it to build a trailer, welding mostly .090" and .120" wall steel using .030" flux core wire, and I couldn't be happier with the results. I'm looking forward to adding gas and trying it out with some .023" wire on some thin sheet.

I have not welded in a several years, and now I have started a new Toyota FJ45 rebuild project. I use to own a Miller Mig welder, and love them but cost was an issue. Lots of body work to be done on the PU box. All I had at the time was the good old stick welder, and that's not going to do the sheet metal work I have to do so looked into a small but reliable Mig welder and came across the Eastwood Mig 135.
All I can say is from the five minutes of adjustments I did with the controls and a few test runs I was welding grate welds just as I had done with my Miller. This machine is not high end as some of the big names but it holds its own. With proper use and care it should last a long time in the shop.

I did a LOT of research before I bought this welder. I looked in to all the other brands, read all the reviews, and asked around. I found that this was about the best deal anywhere.

I'm not a very experienced welder, but I found this machine to be super easy to set up and use. I just got it last week, and played first with some .35 flux core wire. I welded some sheet steel (22 ga), and got pretty good at it. I also did some thicker stuff, up to 1/4". The setting chart on the welder makes it easy to find initial settings. Having the infinite adjustments on both the wire feed and the voltage is nice, unlike other welders on the market you can fine tune the settings to just where you want them.

I went out and bought a tank of shielding gas today- and I'm absolutely amazed at how well this welder performs! I did a quick patch panel on a junk fender, and got excellent results- And no blow through even on the thin sheet metal I was using. I can't believe that I was able to do this well the first time I tried!

I did some thicker material as well, and found that it handles that beautifully as well. I can't wait to get started on some real projects!

A competent little welder, but not worth a penny more than they get for it.

Ground wire came off the clamp after about 3 ft of bead ... trigger wire ends fell off while I was assembling the machine the first time. Several other minor quality problems that weren't worth sending it back by freight. If I had bought it locally I wouldn't have fixed it myself, I would have taken it back for replacement.

You CAN weld aluminum with it, but ONLY if you find the stiffer magnesium alloy wire.

The fact that the wire and gas feed start at the same time makes the beginning of an aluminum bead a problem. If there was a slight delay in the wire, it would work much better ... it could be a minor software upgrade. I'm probably going to add a purge/pre-weld switch to the gas solenoid.

If you plan on welding a lot of aluminum ... save a few more pennies and buy something farther up the line

Great unit for the price. Would recommended this unit to anyone that is on a budget. This thing throws down some nice welds once it is set up correctly.
