I'm crazy happy. this welder is perfect for everything I need it to do. Welded in new floor pans in my firebird and ramp racks on my car hauler. went from very thin to heavy gauge steel with the turn of a dial. Hard to believe the same machine from Lincoln or Miller is over $800.00. So far I've been happy with everything I bought from Eastwood. Thanks guys!!!!!!!!!!!!

BOUGHT MY 135 IN JULY. USED THE SUPPLIED SPOOL OF WIRE. MACHINE STOP FEEDING WIRE, THOUGHT I RAN OUT OF WIRE.COME TO FIND OUT THE UPPER PART OF THE WIRE FEED DRIVE BROKE (ALL MADE OF PLASTIC). CALLED EASTWOOD FOR 2 DAYS AND KEPT GETTING AN ANSWERING SERVICE AND NEVER GOTA CALL BACK FINALLY ON DAY 3 GOT A ANSWER FROM A PERSON. THE HELPER WAS GREAT HELP. SENT OUT A REPALCEMENT PART. TOOK A WEEK AND HALF TO GET TO ME. SENT THE WRONG PART. ON DAY 3 NOW OF TRYING TO GET A HOLD OF SOMEONE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THAT ROCKER ARM FOR DRIVE FEED IS ONE PART THAT SHOULD STEEL. EASTWOOD SHOULD MAKE AN UPDATED PART TIN STEEL.

Haven't used the welder yet so I will only review the over look, feel of the welder and price. I got this welder on sale for 279.99 with free shipping. Shipping was quick, then again I live in NJ and Eastwood is in PA. The box it came in was pretty sturdy. Very Heavy, usually a good indication of quality. Well packed for something that big. When I got the welder out I was pretty impressed. The welder is designed very well, the case is a thick material not cheap flimsy metal. with the lifted side panel open it will show how clean inside the machine is, no cluttering or sloppy wiring. Hope to use it soon.

This welder works very well for light duty welding. Bought it last year but just started really using it on my 66 Biscayne project. Last week the outer sheath of the nozzle fell off. It didn't come unscrewed, it separated from the brass threaded fitting, fell off, and will not stay on. Eastwood's customer support is sending me a new nozzle. I hooked it up to argon/CO-2 and welded away. It worked great even though I hadn't welded in 40 years. Today while welding a quarter panel in place I noticed my fresh cylinder was low, according to the gauge on the regulator. On closer inspection the needle on the gauge on the regulated side was all the way around to the stop. I checked the hose connection with soapy water to see if it was leaking and it wasn't, but something was leaking and I had lost almost a full cylinder of gas before I discovered it. The regulator is obviously defective. I'll tell Eastwood and I know they will replace it. They treat their customers very well. Thanks Eastwood. Oh and aside from the issues listed here the machine Works great.

Welder will not feed. Wire feed opening in unit competely off center. Hose opening where the wire feeds does not come close to being in line with the feed hole in the unit. Will be returning and not looking to replaceng this Eastwood welder. Quality control has opportunities for improvement.

just received my new 135 mig today, and I must say I was impressed. I weld everyday for a living, and restore Mopar muscle for a hobby, I was looking for a small welder for my shop, and was a little apprehensive on buying a welder in this price category. After setting it up I put it through the paces, and I was more then impressed, this welder is way nicer then I expected! With a little practice anyone can weld with this welder, easy controls, and great penetration , welds as good, or better then some of the more expensive welders I have used!

Just like most of the reviews said, this unit is easy to set up and a very good bang for the buck. One minor note: if you use this outside, the plastic face plate on the control panel will warp in a couple of hours. Again, very minor but seemed kind of cheap.
Good for most jobs, not for spot welding (Posted on 11/10/12)

I purchased this Eastwood MIG based on it's very positive reviews. I am a novice welder and figured this would be a good start up unit. I added gas to the unit and here is my review.

PROS: You get a lot for you money ($299) compared to other units (Lincoln, Hobart)

The instructions are complete and easy to follow.

The unit lays down a good bead and does well on autobody sheet metal.

CONS: Despite purchasing the Eastwood spot welding kit, The MIG 135 doesn't cut it. I spent a good 2 hours manipulating the controls trying to get a spot weld. I DID drill a 3/16 pilot hole in the facing metal. The weld looked and sounded great, lots of penetration, but no adhesion. My best guess was that the unit does not have the power to combine the metals (16G)

Also, I replaced the supplied solid core wire with a thicker Lincoln spool. The Lincoln spool does not match up to the Eastwood axle. I had to use a homemade spacer to get it to work.

Summary: I would still buy this unit again, IF I didn't need to do any spot welding.

Ordered my welder and it arrived at my doorstep in 2 days! Works great compared to my old unit. I would recommend this to anyone. Now I can finish my restorations without having to fiddle with my old unit.

I finally used the MIG 135 I ordered last winter, and it is awesome. I don't really have any experience welding, but I am looking forward to gaining some now. I tried it with flux-core, now am looking forward to trying it with gas.
