I bought this welder with the package deal on the grinder. Overall the welder works good but I was disappointed that straight out of the box it was broken. The plastic insert for the door had broken off sometime between assembly and delivery. The spool rell also feel out the first time I used it. I guess I should have check that it was tight. So far so good but quality could be better.

Bought this in December when it was $299 with free shipping. A great little welder. I bought the 135 unit so I could wheel it around my shop and use various electrical outlets. I have welded for years and you cannot beat the value here. My son is a professional welder and he borrows it to take to his house. The 120 volt aspect is really great and this welder is great for making all my brackets on my '33 street rod. Wonder how I got along without it. (Loaded up all my vise gripped pieces and headed to my sons shop, that's how!) Now, I can tack everything, pull it off the car and finish it right on the spot. Can do thicker metals, just do multiple passes. I have only used the flux core so far and the welds clean up nice. A little more spatter than with gas but that cleans up quickly also. Go ahead, buy it. Did I mention my son the welder loves it?

I got this welder for Christmas after trying to go cheap with a Harbor Freight flux core unit. I held off on getting a gas bottle and tried the Flux core for a while and was getting decent welds.
This weekend I finally got to the gas store and got a bottle of C25 and got it hooked up and tried out.
The difference is night and day. With the gas i can see the bead clearly and get a nice looking bead all the way. A nice uniform sizzle sound and very few burn throughs on sheet metal.
My confidence has soared and am ready to tackle the patch on my fender.

I've had this welder for about four months and am very happy with it. Ditch the flux core and get some 75/25 gas....the difference is night and day....clean welds, no spatter. I use .025 wire with great results. Gas bottle is about 150....40 to refill it. Highly recommend.

I purchased the welder for myself for Christmas last year. Finally got to use it yesterday. I had to fab up a bracket to mount a wireless point to an IBeam in the service dept. of the dealership I work at. I used .030 flux core wire (no gas) and welded some mild steel angle iron. Set the dials pretty much where I thought was a good starting point and never looked back. This machine laid down a beautiful bead the first time. I have used several big name brands in the past (including the one we own at the shop) that did not work as well as this one. This was money well spent.

After researching MIGs this was by far the best priced with nice features and I got free shipping buying through ebay. All I plan to do is weld sheet metal with it. I was skeptical because of the killer low price but all the other good reviews made me buy it. I have many years of stick welding experience but never any MIG sheet metal welding. Within 10 minutes I was laying nice smooth beads on lapped 20ga metal with the .023 wire and 15 more minutes I was butt welding without burning through. I was very impressed with the control on this little buggar and its my new best friend. Forget the hand face shield included, thats just for liability I think. Its good for someone to use who is watching you. Buy an auto darkening helmet. Also a 40 cuft bottle of MIG gas cost me $110 and an 80 cuft cost $160 so plan on that expense. As far as quality of construction, as others have stated it does seem a little chincy compared to a Lincoln or Miller but function is most important. Cost difference between them made this issue seem irrellevant.

This little thing can weld! I've been playing with it for a week or two now, and the power/wire speed chart seems to be off a little on the low side. (have to turn it down to weld 16 guage)That's fine with me! :-) The only issue that came up is the face shield they provide in the box had a broken lens. But who would use the hand held shield? Some better instructions would help, but the web video's are great. This will be a nice tool to have around the shop for a long time.
