    Great machine (Posted on 4/10/11)
    Review by Ben
I purchased the welder for myself for Christmas last year. Finally got to use it yesterday. I had to fab up a bracket to mount a wireless point to an IBeam in the service dept. of the dealership I work at. I used .030 flux core wire (no gas) and welded some mild steel angle iron. Set the dials pretty much where I thought was a good starting point and never looked back. This machine laid down a beautiful bead the first time. I have used several big name brands in the past (including the one we own at the shop) that did not work as well as this one. This was money well spent.

After researching MIGs this was by far the best priced with nice features and I got free shipping buying through ebay. All I plan to do is weld sheet metal with it. I was skeptical because of the killer low price but all the other good reviews made me buy it. I have many years of stick welding experience but never any MIG sheet metal welding. Within 10 minutes I was laying nice smooth beads on lapped 20ga metal with the .023 wire and 15 more minutes I was butt welding without burning through. I was very impressed with the control on this little buggar and its my new best friend. Forget the hand face shield included, thats just for liability I think. Its good for someone to use who is watching you. Buy an auto darkening helmet. Also a 40 cuft bottle of MIG gas cost me $110 and an 80 cuft cost $160 so plan on that expense. As far as quality of construction, as others have stated it does seem a little chincy compared to a Lincoln or Miller but function is most important. Cost difference between them made this issue seem irrellevant.

This little thing can weld! I've been playing with it for a week or two now, and the power/wire speed chart seems to be off a little on the low side. (have to turn it down to weld 16 guage)That's fine with me! :-) The only issue that came up is the face shield they provide in the box had a broken lens. But who would use the hand held shield? Some better instructions would help, but the web video's are great. This will be a nice tool to have around the shop for a long time.
Great! except gauge packaging (Posted on 3/16/11)
    Review by Welder
Welder is great. i weld at school and have been doing so for over a year now. Ive used the Lincoln 220v mig and that machine has such a beautiful sound.... anyways this welder is pretty dam close. Once you have it dialed in just right it sounds beautiful! welds pretty nice. i dont have gas so im using tubular wire (flux core) for now. The packaging on the welder was great. The gauge on the other hand was a big no no! The box looked smashed. When i opened it i thought id see the damage caused from shipping but it had nothing to do with shipping. You can see the damage on the inside of the box and were the gauge was bent. Either at packaging someone just threw it in the box and smashed it or at shipping. I think it was at packaging. I complained and got another one shipped to me almost ASAP. I kept the old gauge but its of no use to me. When i install some gas ill see how it truly welds
    Great Product. (Posted on 3/12/11)

I too have been wanting a welder for years, and until now I felt they were too expensive. So far I've used it to put some patch floor boards in my 67 Camaro, and it works great. My welds weren't perfect, but I'm pretty sure it's my novice welding skills not the welder. I'm happy with my purchase, and I'm sure you will be too if you buy this welder. Wait for a sale and get it cheap!

    Review by Larry
The product appears to be of great quality, but time will tell how well it performs. Straight out of box it seems to be a winner. So far the only complaint is the fact there is no instructions included that show the actual attaching of the ground cable or the welding cable. You have to figure it out by yourself or stop what your doing, go home and watch the video on the website. For a novice I can see this being a little bit of problem. I could not find out prior to ordering but after it arrived I also found out it is made in China. But again so far it really welds like advertised. Was on back order forever.
Great value for money (Posted on 2/13/11)
    Review by vaderbloke
I ordered my welder on Feb 1 and was told it was on back order until Feb 8. I was pleasantly surprised when it was shipped Feb 5 and I received it in Texas Feb 10. Two boxes very well packed in perfect condition. Once assembled it worked first time and gave excellent results certainly comparable to a Miller costing nearly 3 times as much. Initially I was going to use this machine only for tacking prior to finishing with TIG, but the results are so good I feel I could use this for finishing alone.
great product poor sevice. (Posted on 2/11/11)
    Review by hemi
my wife bought it for me for christmas. first one was damaged they returned it. sevice was very poor. the second one came no problems. machine works very well. the only complaint i have is the gun. it has a odd shape. but still works fine. the machine is worth the money and bad sevice for the price nothing in the price range can compare. great product.

I've been a certified welding inspector at various Nuclear plants around this great nation, but have found the value and quality in one great unit. I recommend this to any first time welder, as well as those who've been welding for years!
    Fantastic welder (Posted on 1/20/11)
    Review by zguy
I've wanted a mig welder for years but was put off by the cost of a decent mig welder. I started restoring an old Z car and decided to pick this welder up due to all the great reviews. This was my first time welding, and within a few minutes I was off and running. My first project was welding up some exhaust brackets which was very easy to do. Next, I worked on some 1/8 thick flat bar to make some custom bumper mounts and this welder did a great job. Thick stuff is very easy to put down pretty welds with good penetration. Sheet metal is a little trickier, but with about an hours practice on some scrap 22ga metal, I got it dialed in. I've made all kinds of body repairs, frame rail repairs, brackets etc.. with this welder. It's the best garage purchase I've ever made. Wire feeds smooth, with the infinitely adjustable voltage you can fine tune to get it just right (most sub $1000 mig's only have 4-6 voltage setttings). This welder is perfect for home shop use.
