Not a name brand but all the right stuff (Posted on 6/5/13)

I bought this welder to weld sheet metal only. My current welder works great but since the heat settings can only be set in steps, it made it very difficult to weld thin gauge metal. The only way to get a infinite heat setting was much more costly on name brand welders. I didn't expect a whole lot for the price of this welder and I have to say you can tell it's not as nice as a high end unit (china knock off). However it does have all the features you would need in a much pricier unit and it does everything I need it to do on thin sheet metal. VERY HAPPY with the results and I have used it for about a month.

My last welder was a 100 Lincoln welder..I am very happy with the Eastwood 135 welder. It has plenty of power and easy to use. I am using it to build my next streetrod, which will be sectioned and channeled...the welder will be perfect to weld the thin metal back together. Thanks again for producing a great product!

I purchased this unit for body patch repairs. I am a mig novice so for my first repair I was concerned with burn thru. I was amazed with the ease of my spot welds and with following fill in, and no burn thru. It is a pro repair, I wish I had this welder years ago.

I have welded professionally with both Lincolns and Millers and in my opinion the Eastwood MIG 135 performs just as well as any machine at 2x or 3x the cost... the only thing I wish they would change or at least offer a replacement wire feed mechanism out of metal or thicker plastic I feel wish heavier use it may fail but I'm not too concerned because of the solid 3yr warranty they have.

Don't be fooled by the price. This is a great value welder. I am on my second 10lb spool in a short time. It has ran it flawlessly. I used Hobart wire the first time with good results but switched to Lincoln wire and it got better. I am currently using flux core wire because I'm welding a lot outside. I would not be afraid to suggest this to a friend. I also have a Lincoln and it welds pretty much the same. I cannot speak for long term life because I've only had it a couple weeks but so far so good.

I got my first one and the top handle was broken despite the great packaging. Eastwood didnt even flinch, they just sent me a replacement unit even though I only asked for a new handle. Once I started using it, I found out that this little unit works better than any other welder of comparable size that I have ever used....including miller porta paks. It took me less than 5 minutes to get the feel and the handy chart on the inside cover is nice when you are switching wire or metal so you have a "reminder" of where to start and then adjust from there. I have run 30 lbs of wire thru this since November when I bought it and I love it so much I wont even let me nephews borrow it for fear that I may never get it back again. If they want to use it, it stays in my shop!

Got this Eastwood MIG Welder 135 Amp, easy instructions. I haven't welded for over 20 years, but I used this welder for some restoration work on my 54 chevy truck frame and welded with ease, welded first on some scrap steel to get the right voltage and wire speed, after that welded parts of the truck frame and suspension with no issues. Recommend this also to anyone and very portable can take this anywhere for other type of welding projects. It worth the price, better than some other welders I used in the past!
