Got my Eastwood Mig 175 three days ago and have used it for over 4 hours. Still new, but I can give an early rating, Outstanding in all areas. I'm presently half way through a 4 month Mig Welding (GMAW) course at a near by Community College which has some of the best, high dollar, equipment with both Lincoln and Miller welders costing $2000.00 plus. I'm so impressed with the Eastwood 175 that I would stack it up against the welders at the college. The set-up is easy, the directions are easy to follow, the cables and cabinet are good quality and the controls are easy to use and suggested setting are a good starting point. A lot of settings are also a condition of the person's speed laying down the bead. I haven't used the Spool gun, but if it is anything like the mig unit then I'll be just as impressed. The price for the Eastwood Mig 175 with Spool Gun is half what the major welding companies charge for the same welder with spool gun and as far as I'm concerned you get the same quality or better and just as good service with a 3 year warranty. You can't go wrong. I highly recommend the Eastwood 175 with spool gun.

The welder works great and is good value though I had a cooling fan issue about 8 months into my warranty. I called to get a new cooling fan which I was told would be sent, 2 months later no fan and I can't use my welder. I call again and finally they agree to replace it, I ship it out, here I am 3 weeks later and 3 phone calls and it still isn't on its way. 6 months ago I told people to buy Eastwood. Today I say buy a Lincoln.

I was ready to pull the trigger on a Miller Mig unit ($1200.00), and decided why not try the Eastwood Mig. It has a 30 day no hassle return policy. To my surprise this Mig 175 can weld as good as the competition. Took me about 10 min to get it going, and man this rig is an excellent welder. Lots of voltage for what I need. I had a small issue with a item in shipping, and customer service went over and above to make it right. Give it a try and you will be impressed. I WAS!!!!!!

What matters is the welder makes good welds. It's easy to use, and so far it has been reliable. The downside is the cart is flimsy and poorly designed. If I could go back I would buy the welder alone and then use it to build a good cart. The welder has an overall feel of low quality. Like the rubber isn't as strong/thick, some other parts just aren't up to par with the miller/lincoln welders. But I have used miller and lincoln welders and it is just as easy to use and makes just as good or better welds. For the price it is UNBEATABLE. Trust me I did a lot of research. The spool gun has the same cheap feel but it works great for fixing my aluminum sprinkler pipe and I have had no problems so far (it takes some practice to weld aluminum though). Great overall I would and have recommended to others and they also agree. Gets fairly heavy use on a 500 acre farm and no real problems so far after two years. The price with spool gun is amazing. It uses same disposable parts as lincoln mig welder I believe (they have the parts at local hardware stores.) I never write reviews but thought I would cause this was a great buy.
