Goodbye Hobart, Miller, Lincoln

Review by Kirk -
I've had the welder for a year now. Unfortunately, I suffered a stroke just after it arrived so I'm just now able to submit my opinion. THANK GOD THERE IS A 3 YEAR WARRANTY!! I don't think I'm going to need any warranty service for this unit. I've done production welding for numerous years using company supplied welders, Hobart, Miller, and Lincoln and I can't find any differences at all. Honestly the compactness of this unit is far superior than all of the above. I found NO lag time during extended feeds. The current was consistent even on 20-30 second beads. Trigger response was better than expected, even on the spool gun. The current cut out time was almost nil. I recently welded a tooth onto a front end loader bucket, it was 1/2" thick and I had no problem running multiple beads, the penetration was perfect. If you are a beginner I would suggest you purchase the video before you try any welding with it, but the same goes for all welders. My only disappointment was the size of the Argon Gauges that came with the unit. You really do need reading glasses to see the needles. You can buy regular size gauges for about $50.00 at any welding supply place.Quality Price Value
All and all this unit will stand up to the needs of any small business or shop.
Thank you very much for introducing me and others here to this line. All your statements regarding this product are absolutely true!! -

I bought a welder from a local tool store chain and had it shipped to that store (saved on shipping) and before it came in I found these reviews on this EW 175. So when the welder came in, without even looking at the welder, told them I didn't want it. I was charged a 15% re-stocking fee which I decided to do it anyway. I really want this EW welder. So I haven't got it yet but will be ordering soon and I hope it lives up to the hype because it cost me an extra $50 to get it. Wish me luck......Price Value Quality -

This is by far the best portable welder I used, I been welding with a Lincoln 180HD, don't get me wrong is a good welder, but this MIG 175 performs as good or better in my opinion, I'm using CO2-Argon mix, followed the setting instructions and the result was a perfect weld !!Price Value Quality
The only thing better than the welder is the affordable price. -

this is the best welder I have ever used. I have welded for 25 five years and i have used all of the Millers, Licolns, Hobarts, and Esabs. They dont touch this pack of power. Great price , shipping , and awesome performance. Please dont let the cheap price fool you.Price Value Quality -

there is not a miller, hobart, or lincoln on the market that will touch this welder. I have been a welder for 25 years and have welded all over the USA on every type of metal known to man. This is a welder to brag on. Please do not hesitate to buy any of their products because of the cheap price, If they were 1500.00 dollars that would be half of what they are really worth. Thanks alot and God Bless.Price Value Quality -

I put a lot of faith in Eastwood. I tell people Eastwood very seldom brings a product to market without the bugs being worked out. I am well pleased with the unit itself. My only negatives are niggling little things. Ithink the manual needs to be rewritten. When I compare it to the manual for the Lincoln that it replaced it is barely adequate. I can envision someone who had little or no experience with MIG welders getting lost. The only other complaint I would have is why even bother including such s cheap shield I can't imagine anyone trying to use it,Value Quality Price
