About Eastwood MIG Welder 175 Amp with Spool Gun
MIG 175 welder is designed for the professional or weekend enthusiast. Welder comes complete (except for the gas cylinder) and ready to weld 24-gauge to 5/16" mild steel and stainless, plus 14-ga. to 1/4" aluminum. Welder has a 30% duty cycle at 135 amps, and 30-175-amp welding range. Feeds wire at 58"-471" per minute, and has infinitely adjustable wire speed and heat settings. Includes a precision-drive motor, regulator with hose, spool gun (for welding 19-gauge to 1/4" aluminum plate), wire, tips and accessories...just add your own cylinder of CO2/Argon. "Quick Set" weld chart specifies settings for each material thickness, eliminating guesswork and assuring complete penetration. Amperage and output voltage can be controlled precisely to get the proper penetration required. Wire speed can be infinitely adjusted to gain proper wire fill in the weld pool. bought the mig 175 w/ spool gun to weld aluminum with . I have only used it a few times and i worked it pretty hard, so far i have no complaints. it puts out a good weld. i was thinking of going with the Hobart machine im glad that i made the choice to buy this one. I do think the cd video they sent with it needs to be for the same machine and maybe a little welding instructions to get started.Value Quality Price -

I waited to write this until after I had the unit a couple of months. I do hobby welding and had borrowed a friends Lincoln for much longer than I should have because I fell in love with that unit. After reading these reviews I decided to purchase the Eastwood 175. I'm glad I did because this unit welds as good as a Lincoln or Miller unit and I couldn't be happier. 2 weeks before I bought this one my buddy purchased the Miller AS180 with Spool Gun and gave twice what I paid for the Eastwood, which welds just as good. I'll be buying more Eastwood products.Price Value Quality -

I have finally got to use my recently purchased MIG welder. I had no problems getting started and the machine works great. I am in the process of building a small welding table so i can weld most of my stuff while seated. I have not yet tried the spool gun but that is next. I also purchased the $89.00 welding cart which I would advise anyone to do. It is a perfect fit and match for the Eastwood MIG 175. Thanks for a good product!Price Value Quality -

i have hobart 175 handler since 10 years is very good welder but i cant have spool gun on my hobarts i buy easwood 175 for the spool-gun work very good whit spool-gun i am very happy for the price great welder work like hobart for 1/2 pricePrice Value Quality -

I have been welding for 46 years. Just got rid of a smaller Lincoln mig welder because I wanted more power. So far ,about 2 hours of use, I'm very happy with it. The only problem I've had so far is Fedex delivered it to the wrong house. It sat on his porch for who knows how many days before the heighbor called saying there was heavy box on his porch that belonged to me. When I opened it and pulled out the welder the front was damaged. When I got trough to customer service they seemed like they wanted me to fix it. Finally they said they would send a call tag to ship it back. I waited and didn't hear any thing from them for about a week so I called and talked to someone who said "oh you wanted a replacement ?" I said yes and got it several days later, to the right house this time. I know shipping problems were not their fault. The 200 amp ac/dc tig welder will be my next purchase form Eastwood.Value Quality Price -

I am a rookie welder and have been using a very seasoned Linde MIG welder on my '59 Chevy truck project. Amazing what late model MIG technology can produce for the price. Could not justify spending 2 to 3 times the cost to buy a brand name welder so, after reading the reviews, decided on the 175. Would recommend to anyone. The only issue I have had with the unit is that the door comes off the hinges every time I open it. Called Eastwood's customer support and they immediately emailed me back and even called me. A new set of hinges is being Fed Ex'd to me now.Value Quality Price -
Sheilding gas connection

I just recieved my welder yesterday. Amazed at how fast I got it btw. My immediate problem I'm having before even using it for the first ime is hooking up the sheilding gas. I have it on a MIG cart and I have the big bottle of gas that extends over the top of the welder. The gas inlet is directly in the center and towards the top of the machine. There is only about an inch of clearance between tth two. Found a 90 degree brass plumbing fititing but was told by a friend that works at a welding supply (BOC) that it's not compatible. So I ordered on from them for another $16.00 and they don't know when I'll get it. For now I guess I'll just set the bottle next to the unit so I can play with it. My previous welder had ia nipple with a plastic hose and clamp near the bottom amd on the left. You guys got a solution to this?Price Value Quality -

Lacks a little in the materials of the spool gun.
Welds great on the aluminum, and the hard wire
have not used the flux core as of yet!!

I have shopped for quite some time for a new welder and have reviewed many name brand units but none gave this much value for the money. I have purchased two cheap aftermarket welders that would weld but produced low quality welds that required much grinding and cleanup. Glad I finally found the Eastwood mig and now I can finish welding my street rod with nice welds that will require much less cleanup. I received much more for my dollar than I expected. Now I also will buy other Eastwood products since I know they sell quality.Quality Price Value
