Makes good welds

What matters is the welder makes good welds. It's easy to use, and so far it has been reliable. The downside is the cart is flimsy and poorly designed. If I could go back I would buy the welder alone and then use it to build a good cart. The welder has an overall feel of low quality. Like the rubber isn't as strong/thick, some other parts just aren't up to par with the miller/lincoln welders. But I have used miller and lincoln welders and it is just as easy to use and makes just as good or better welds. For the price it is UNBEATABLE. Trust me I did a lot of research. The spool gun has the same cheap feel but it works great for fixing my aluminum sprinkler pipe and I have had no problems so far (it takes some practice to weld aluminum though). Great overall I would and have recommended to others and they also agree. Gets fairly heavy use on a 500 acre farm and no real problems so far after two years. The price with spool gun is amazing. It uses same disposable parts as lincoln mig welder I believe (they have the parts at local hardware stores.) I never write reviews but thought I would cause this was a great buy.Price Value Quality -

I recently purchased an Eastwood 175 Amp Mig Welder with spool gun this product has met and exceeded my expectations I'm just learning to weld from the guy's I work with. They were impressed, I let three certified welders use my welder they were surprised at how smooth it worked and that the settings for metal thickness and wire speed were so close they needed no fine tuning.Quality Price Value
Thanks Eastwood -

I needed to upgrade from my Lincoln Weld-pak 110v welder. I looked at many machines, and it came down to either Hobart or Eastwood. The free shipping, spool gun infinite heat control and 3 yr warranty convinced me to pull the trigger on the Eastwood.Quality Price Value
To my surprise the welder showed up 3 days later, Fed Exed to my door.
I ran a 2lb spool of .023 wire and about 1lb of .030 welding a wide range of materials and thicknesses the first day. This machine did great, you may have to tinker/fine tune your settings, especially on thinner material, but that is where the infinite controls really shine. I have now built a HD welding cart, that holds both my welders, a 200 CU ft bottle, and a 125 CU ft bottle, and a go-kart. I have yet to have a single hick-up or problem. This welder kicks my 110v Lincoln's butt!
This is not a Miller 211, or a higher end Hobart, like the 230 Ironman, but it is a great machine that has performed as well as any brand name 175/180 mig I have used.
Good job Eastwood! -

I've owned this welder for about six months and love it. I used to manage a Fab shop and was a certified pipe welder for years and this welder stacks right up with the name brand industry leaders except for the fact that the Eastwood MIG 175 is affordable.Quality Price Value
You can dial this unit in so it sings and lays a perfect bead. It is a joy to use, I'm glad I purchased it. -

Purchased welder not initially for automotive use, but rather to weld 3/16 steel on a custom made fence. I began project in one of my friends commercial welding shops using his big Lincoln machine--he retired before I finished leaving me without a welder. So far, I have used 10 small rolls of wire and half way through a large roll, two bottles of argon mix--and all I can say is this welder is awesome. When compared to my friends commercial welder, I couldn't notice any difference on 3/16 steel, if anything, I think the striker trigger was more controllable on the Eastwood. The instructions that come with the unit--and the videos set the standard for all tool manufacturers--they are top-notch and simple to follow. If I had any complaints; the first isn't related to Eastwood, but rather the shipper--the box is kind of heavy and they smashed two units--Eastwood sent out new ones right away--the last one they only broke a door hinge and Eastwood sent me out an entire new door (great customer service). My last desire is that the striker hose was longer--maybe 10-12 foot long instead of the 8 foot. I have yet to use the spool gun, but I keep looking around the shop for something aluminum to break so I can try it out. All in all, this welder performs just like the big boys, but as it is equipped, costs half the price, and has better warranty.Quality Price Value -
