About Eastwood Thermo-Coustic Sound Deadener Material

Eastwood’s Thermo-Coustic Insulation is perfect to highly reduce road noise and engine heat to make your ride more comfortable! The Thermo-Coustic Barrier conforms easily to interior and door panels, with a hi-tack adhesive that lets you install them securely. Each of the 9 sheets are crafted with a .060"-thick layer of sound-deadening butyl rubber material, bonded to a high-performance, heat-reducing aluminum facing, for an overall thickness of 0.063".

Along with a significant reduction in road noise and driveline vibration, these Thermo-Coustic Barrier sheets help keep heat from penetrating your vehicle’s interior. Tests showed performance equivalent to that of the more-expensive major brand, so why pay more? Compare the performance and price to Dynamat liners and see for yourself.

Kit includes 33.75 sq. ft. of material, enough to insulate the most critical portions of your car’s interior and door panels. For more complete coverage, order two kits (particularly if you've removed the factory sound-deadening material during restoration). Imported.

Being a novice at restoring vehicles, I am also restricted to a budget. I put this stuff on to the firewall of my '74 Gran Torino; even outside in the cold, it maintains its adhesion properties and pliability quite well! Sticks great! I am in the process of getting the rest of the cabin insulated, with the trunk being insulated next. Can't wait to see how well this works with the open headers on my 460, which is sure to give it a real test! A great buy! Only con I have is the fact that you need to keep lots of sharp utility blades around.

I added offroad exhaust to my Roush Stage 3 and the drone at 80mph was mind numbing. It was difficult to hear a normal conversation and the sound quality of my sterio was affected. I stripped the interior and applied the Thermo-Coustic material. The install was very easy and straight forward, just wear leather gloves as the edges are sharp or in my case have a box of bandaides handy as I sprung a few leaks. The effect after the instal was dramatic. The drone is all but gone, conversation is easier and my sterio sounds much better. It's still not "Lexus" quiet but a HUGE improvement over stock. Would HIGHLY recommend this product to anyone. Came back to the site today to buy more, my intention is to fully encapsulate the interior. Buy it, it really works. RR

PLease let me start this by saying I selected the above 5 Star rating on "Price" over the Dynamat.

For the "Value" and "Quality", I selected "1 star" because I have not used your product (yet) AND there are no other "Options" upon which I might select!

I've bought (Dynamat) two packages of 36SQ FT at $229.00 PER PACKAGE for my Sunbeam Alpine. I've placed it in as many as possible places available.

It cuts nicely with a sharp knife and forms well!

I LIKE THE PRODUCT VERY MUCH!

Only fault i have is like a previous "Rater" on "your" Eastwood product is that the product is "FOLDED" and causes very bad wrinkles!

Take his suggestion and cut the product into smaller pieces "before" packaging for shipment.

I believe the smaller pieces will be more suited for the customer. It certainly will be for me!

I realize too, that changing production methods might be a problem but if they are "modern" and under a comptuer for control it would be a simple "coding" by some Programer to resolve this minor yet troublesome aspect of your product.

Be the first to correct this "over your competiors!!!

I intend to purchase some of your "Stuff" for my Hardtop soon in order to complete this restoration project.

I have several others cars awaiting restoration and look forward to "saving" money by utilizing your Thermo-Coustic Sound Deadner....

Thanks for allowing me to "sound-Off",

just got done installing this product on the mini tubs i installed on my mustang, easy to cut with a sharp utility knife, from the back side or the foil side. do yourself a favor and template as many pieces as you can, cut with utility blade on top of some plywood or cardboard and only peel off a portion of the paper while you get it in place. don't listen to some of the reviews that say it's hard to cut or it's too sticky, these people most likely rushed the job and tried to use the same blade to do the entire job. don't you want it to be very sticky, i do!!

I used this in my 1967 Cutlass convertible. It was easy to cut and work with conforming to all the compound curves and bends of the floor. It fit so well you can clearly see the drain plug out lines on the rear floorboards. It really keeps road noise and exhaust heat down too. I'd buy this again. I shopped all the brands and this is the best deal going. Thanks Eastwood.

I just finished doing a interior restoration on a 1965 Mustang coupe which I have owned for a year or so. When you drove this car in the summer before, you roasted from the exhaust heat from the trans tunnell and firewall! It is amazing how much difference this product makes. I covered the floors, kick panel areas, even behind the rear seat and sides. Not only is it much cooler, but you can carry on a conversation while driving! I would recomend this to anyone doing a restoration, or building a street rod.
The Eastwood product is great quality and easy to cut and form.

I recieved my order and the box was in perfect shape. I opened the box and was saddened to see you ship the product FOLDED in the box.this stretched the product right in the middle where you folded it. Why not cut the product to 15" x 18" and stack it 18 layers instead of 9 layers of (18" x 30" and folded)? You could ship it in the same box at the same shipping cost and the customer would be happy. Handling 18' x 30" pieces can be very tricky with also peeling the adhesive cover off too. Pieces 15" x 18" are much easier to handle and lay without air bubbles too. Thanks for a great product.
