About Eastwood Thermo-Coustic Sound Deadener Material

Eastwood’s Thermo-Coustic Insulation is perfect to highly reduce road noise and engine heat to make your ride more comfortable! The Thermo-Coustic Barrier conforms easily to interior and door panels, with a hi-tack adhesive that lets you install them securely. Each of the 9 sheets are crafted with a .060"-thick layer of sound-deadening butyl rubber material, bonded to a high-performance, heat-reducing aluminum facing, for an overall thickness of 0.063".

Along with a significant reduction in road noise and driveline vibration, these Thermo-Coustic Barrier sheets help keep heat from penetrating your vehicle’s interior. Tests showed performance equivalent to that of the more-expensive major brand, so why pay more? Compare the performance and price to Dynamat liners and see for yourself.

Kit includes 33.75 sq. ft. of material, enough to insulate the most critical portions of your car’s interior and door panels. For more complete coverage, order two kits (particularly if you've removed the factory sound-deadening material during restoration). Imported.

Eastwood Thermo-Coustic Sound Deadener Material, Works great on floors , DON'T USE ON DOORS!
I used it in the back hatch of my MINI Cooper , It came running of of the weep holes and down the back of the car, I had to remove what was left. - On the floor of my 75 M-Benz , & 76 Dodge it has worked great.

My lot of this product exhibited the same problem mentioned in other negative reviews. It was purchased 2 years ago but with unanticipated project delays was not used until now. The "butyl rubber" was running and dripping out of the box. It had to be refrigerated to keep it from dripping. I only applied it under the rear seat, and I am unsure as to whether or not to scrap the rest. $250 down the drain? Less than 70 degrees in AZ? What am I in for?

This stuff is like a tarry liquid at 75 degrees F. room temperature. Leave it out over night and you will see it drip out from under your vertical panels. I'm going to have to remove it all and replace it with a more legit product. That is going to be a huge effort. I am entirely dissatisfied and can't reach Eastwood tech on the phone or via chat. How disappointing. I'd give it zero stars, if that was an option. Less expensive is not a benefit if it damages your restoration.

I have installed Thermo-Coustic from the firewall to the trunk, including the interior of the doors, in four cars and one pick-up truck. I first used it in my 1969 Chevrolet Nova to control the heat coming up from the exhaust headers. My "hot rod" was transformed into a "cool ride". The sound levels also became acceptable.
I completely recommend Thermo-Coustic for any car a person wants to improve.

I have bought many products from Eastwood over several years. I must say this is the only product That has been completely unacceptable. I installed it on a transmission tunnel and even before driving the car the black rubber had run down the sides and pooled on the floor. In my case the garage is below grade and does not get above 70 degrees even in the summer. I used about for sheets and what is left in the box has also oozed out along the edges. After reading several other positive reviews it sounds like there may have been some bad batches

I've used this stuff on two diffewrent vehicles, and it is really great stuff! It insulates and helps deaden sound. It says not to use it on roofs, but I've heard of people doing it and it works fine; anyone have good luck with that? I want to put it on the roof of my vw bug, then put up the headliner. I don't want it falling down. Otherwise, I've never had any issues with it.

This product runs and drips in temperatures over 90 degrees. A gooey mess sealed my doors shut, ruined the rubber seals on my doors, and ruined all four door speakers.

The cost of two boxes of this stuff pales in comparison to the time and cost of cleaning up the mess it caused when it melted and ran all over everything, not to mention 4 high-end aftermarket speakers that were ruined.

If you live in a climate that ever gets over 90 degrees, do not buy this product. You will be sorry.

Product works well, but takes a good bit of work to cover a large vehicle (doors, panels, floor, firewall, etc.). It took about 4 times the time I allotted to fit all the bumps and curves, but other than that the install went well. The next time I do a full sized call or 100% of a vehicle I will try a spray product to save time. Worked as advertised so I can't complain. Install was a 70 Pontiac Le Mans.
