    Details

It will penetrate deep into the metal dissolving the rust in a few hours. Leaves metal ready to paint, plate or powder coat. So gentle, it’s suitable for engine parts and is harmless to copper, brass, aluminum, solder, lead, plastic, rubber, seals, wood, and vinyl. Will not remove sound paint.
Liquid rust Dissolver works as long as the surface is wet. Items that cannot be fully immersed due to size can be placed in the discharge stream of a commonly available small pump. One gallon de-rusts about 20 square feet of metal.
The gel adheres to vertical surfaces and dissolves rust without having to submerse the metal in a tub or bucket. Ideal for quarter-panels, fenders and other vertical surfaces.

This stuff worked great. I used it to derust hardware i removed from a 46 tractor. I removed the heavy rust with a wire wheel than put it into the product. This stuff seems to work better at a high temp. If its cold it works very slow or not at all. I put it into a plastic coffee can just deep enough to cover the bolts and placed the container in the sun or under a heat lamp and it cleaned them down to bare steel. Good stuff

Looking for a rust remover? Keep looking! This is more of a rust multiplier. I thought I had a problem with rust before I used it. After I finished and cleaned it off the flash rust began immediately and was like nothing I've ever seen! Save yourself a bunch of work and just get out the wire brush and sandpaper now.

I used this on an old Completely rusted Steamer Trunk that was all Tin & Steel. Coated the whole thing and the rust remover was thicker that liquid dissolvers I've used but I was hoping is would be more GEL like. Anyway I rapped the project and waited 8 hours and hosed it. Took a lot off but not all. I dried it and applied remover again and covered overnite. I uncovered it and scrubbed it with a wire brush. Hosed it.. IT REMOVED ALL THE RUST! Clean bare tin and steel! With repeated applications it WILL work and work well. Like to see it made more like a gel though. Would dry quickly on a larger project but I like it. I would buy it again.

I'm in the midst of restoring a 90 Miata up here in Rustland and was looking for a solution for the many anodized bolts and small brackets/pieces that need to be taken care of. I purchased 2 gallons of this and filled a plastic container I picked up with a gasketed lid (the stuff will evaporate and turn into jelly if you leave it open too long). .I also have an old stainless fry-o-lator basket I got somewhere that works great for bolts/nuts.

The secret is to degrease parts before dipping and leaving enough time for really rusted parts to be worked on by the solution. I just did some wheel hubs I left for a week. The picture of the hood latch I've attached was 24 hours.

When I pull the items out I do the following; wire brush or toothbrush to work off the remaining rust remnants, then into a parts washer for some more brushing/rinsing, then air dry, then I pretty quickly hit them with Eastwood's After-Blast (or some vinegar) to prevent flash rust.

I know it seems expensive but if you start purchasing lots of oem bolts - especially large, long bolts/nut used in suspensions, this pays for itself quickly with the old pieces you can save..

The picture is the hood latch before & after. I washed it for an hour, then into the Rust Dissolver for 24 hours, then back into the washer, then dried.

I have tried just about every other solution out there and this stuff is the best.

I think that it should be noted that this product is an acid and should be thoroughly washed with water before applying Pre. I personally like to use Afterblast on any metal that isn't being painted soon.

Even though the bottle says it is safe on chrome, I had it dissolve the chrome layer on a 2008 Silverado bumper while treating some rust spots. Have not tried it yet on other metals.

I have A door off my 49 ford pickup I could not sand or grind the rust or oxidization off. I got this product put on the first coat and was amazed that most of the oxidization and rust was gone. The next coat took the rest off. I Highly recommend this product for badly rusted parts.

I was really disappointed with this product. First it leaked and the contents of the shipping box were soaked. Second it was a liquid not a gel. Don't know what went wrong with this product. I ended up tossing it. However I will say that Customer Service were really good and Eastwood gave credit. I'm still a fan of Eastwood.

So gentle it does remove rust. And its not a gel at all. I tried to remove rust from a core support with on success. Followed instrustion including the plastic rap overnight like it states an nothing. What a waste of money!
