Well the first mig showed up damaged from the freight company! I contacted Eastwood and they sent out parts to repair. I installed parts and things worked for a little bit, then couldn't get good consistent welds. Tech support was very good, we tried different things, but no luck. I really didn't want to ship it back because I live in western Canada. Anyway I did send it back and Eastwood replaced it with a new one and it arrived undamaged (no cost to me either way). All I can say it is great and works as good or better than my "Blue Brand" one.
Service was simply fantastic and other companies should take lesson's from these guys and gals!!

No problems with the welder...fine equipment. However, I was denied the 10% on-line discount for signing up then and there. I even called to verify the discount and was instructed to request the discount in the 'comment' section of the order. The next day I was informed by Eastwood that that the 175 Amp welder was not subject to the discount. Today's Eastwood offering has dropped the price by nearly 10%. And the offer of a 10% internet sign-up discount is still being offered. I'm debating whether or not to order again from Eastwood. Don't believe all that you read.

I was looking for a good GMAW setup for my home garage, but didn't want to spend nearly $1000 on a unit I would only use occasionally. The product is packaged excellently and it arrived in perfect shape, assembly was easy, and I had the cart and welder assembled and ready to weld in a couple of hours.
The base settings for material etc are close, but with a little adjustment you can really dial this thing in.very well with its infinitely adjustable potentiometer style knobs. So far I have built a stainless turbo manifold using SCH.30 pipe and I am currently using the Spool Gun to build an intake manifold for my project car. They both perform flawlessly and make excellent welds.

My only complaint is a couple of design hiccups: 1. The door on the unit and the cart want to occupy the same space. This is not a big deal, because all I have to do is tilt the unit back a little to open the door.
2. Bigger bottles on the cart interfere with having a bottle on the back thanks to the position of the hose inlet on the back, but I solved this with a 90 degree fitting.
3. A couple of the plastic parts could be made a little more robust, in my opinion, but as long as you aren't an ape with the machine it should hold up fine. All of the internal parts though are sufficiently sturdy so there should be no problems there.

IMHO, for the money you definitely cannot go wrong with this unit. It easily compares to the previous Miller welder I had in terms of quality, which was a a Miller 135. As far as long term durability goes only time will tell, but I have never been let down by anything I have bought from Eastwood thus far, so my confidence is high that this thing can and will deliver years of service.

I can say with out a doubt that this welder combo is the best deal anywhere, so far i have used it for about 9 months so far in my powersports repair shop and its been a fantastic welder, only thing i didn't like about the combo was the cart, otherwise i would have given it 5 stars, i installed the top shelf of the cart upside down and attached the welder to that shelf by small bolts so it wouldn't fall or slide off. that gave it enough clearance to open the welders side door up. i also fly and am building an experimental aircraft and will be ordering your ac/dc tig set up next

Great welder, put it up against any like model from the three large brand names any day. Had the unit almost a year I have ran 4 or 5 spools thru it (steel only so far and thru the spool gun only) Flawless performance, just wish I was as good as the machine. They say mig is easy and this package makes it even more simple. The cart, well, "The Cart" was not made for the large bottle I have on it. Eastwood should skip the hand held helmet and skip the cheesey wire brush just not even include it in the package and increase their profits. But I have modified my cart and like this machine so well I am ordering myself the Eastwood TIG 200 for xmas :). If you live in the Tampa Bay area and want to try one before you order it, email me at maintire@gmail.com and Put "try welder" in the subject line. I have read the reviews of the TIG 200 and it seems if it works good twice out of the box your golden if not it appears Eastwood stands tall behind the product. Look for my review of that product in a few months when I have had enough time to give a for real report.

After reading the negative reviews about the cart, I still went ahead and bought the package. The problem isn't the cart, it's the welder case. The door goes to the bottom of the case. I looked at a welder today (the one in the red case) and the bottom of the door is about 1 1/2 inches above the shelf it was sitting on. That would allow it to clear the lip on the cart. If you shop for carts you will notice that most of them are very similar to Eastwood's. It's not that big a deal to tip the welder to open the door once in a while. As for the rest of the package, I'm very pleased. The ground and whip on my unit are at least 8 feet. Maybe Eastwood read the reviews..All I have to do now is learn to weld. All I've done so far is run some beads with flux core wire. I plan on getting some argon and do some aluminum repair on my boat.

I have a trucking company and wanted to start to do some repairs on our trucks. i was told by many people to buy a miller or a lincoln . i was looking for one of these and the prices were out of control for these units. im certain your just paying for the name. i then saw eastwoods advertisement so took a look and saw other reviews on this product was good. i also searched on google and reviews were good. i decided to buy one and i received order in 1 day. I started welding and took me about 4 times to start welding nice beads. love this welder and i want to buy the plasma cutter next

Welder seems real nice. Hooked everything up no gas from nozzle?? checked regulator fine. checked hose no gas thru it, called company got machine left message. started checking hose ended up fitting for end was not drilled out (solid no hole) Drilled out myself works perfect. Company called back 2 days later. Welding cart S**ks real cheap bent my top shelf pulling across room. Would recommend welder but not cart.

I have used several Manufacturers welder over the years on hobby and auto projects. Right out of the box and assembled with an argon bottle, I was very impressed with the quality of the welds from thin to thick material. On Christmas day I was welding everything I could find in my garage and it proformed great on everything I tried. I even put a couple of items I welded together in a vise and beat the crap out of it in an effort to break the weld. Instead just bent the steel.
Overall a great welder at a SUPER price and welds are very attractive. Highly recommend this machine to anyone.
