I had high anticipation when I ordered this gun. However, when I received this gun the air control valve did not work. I use this feature when I am painting to control the amount of air when shooting tight curves and crevices. I called tech service and explained the problem and they were very helpful. They said they would send another gun to replace this one. I received the new gun and after following their directions on cleaning, I started to set my controls only to find this none blew paint out the backside of the needle in the trigger assembly. I disassembled the gun completely and found the main screw for the needle was left loose. After correcting these problems I discovered the air valve on this one did not work like the first gun! I called tech support again and told them I would soak the valve in lacquer thinner to see if I could free it up. After 3 days of soaking, and some use of a pair of vise grips (well padded to avoid messing up the valve) I was able to free up the air valve. All in all, I would say this gun is a decent gun once all the problems were sorted out. However, I would say this gun is really a $69.95 - 79.95 gun. It does lay paint well but my Devillbiss low price gun does a better job for about the same amount as I paid for this gun.

I've been using devilbiss, binks, and a few other medium grade guns for quite a few years now. i just thought i would get this as maybe a primer or commercial paint gun. The first one i ordered i pulled out of the box took it apart cleaned it and set it in my paint holder ready for paint. I put a basic surface primer in it and it began to leak from the back side of the plunger down the trigger and all over my hand. I was not impressed with the quality of the manufacturing at all. This thing is like holding a 2x4 in your hand. they really missed the mark with the design. But we are talking about a 100.00 gun. i contacted eastwood and they promply exchanged it and now i have a brand new one in the box in the garage. I'll probably give it to the boy to play around with. For the newbie....I wouldn't waste my time with this gun. You already have stikes againist you with no experience so spend a little extra $ and buy something that will possibly make it look like you know what your doing. The devilbiss starting line isn't too bad for the price. I would say spend as much as you can afford. I would stay away from this unless you just plan on doing the garage paint jobs or simple stuff around the shop.

was excited to get the gun.was on sale in magazine then when ordering it was another 10bucks off.(after getting it I know why). first the air valve was not assembled,no big deal. I don't know whos' hand it fits, the handle is really fat and uncomfortable and heavy. breakdown in instructions doesn't show the whole thing. most hvlps need 25 psi this needs 43 at 12cfm not good for home owners. just hope it sprays good.will let you know.

I am a production painter and let me tell you that this spray gun is not that good. The gun is not that light and the handle part is so big that it makes my hand cramp. My GTI does a way better job at spraying than this turd. The threads, where the adapter screws into, strip out very easy because they are plastic. I have way better spray guns than this one. When i first got it, it sprayed nothing but fisheyes.

When I received my Evolution paint gun I couldn't wait to try it. It performed better than I expected. It's light weight when combined with the Devilebiss decup system. I'm going to order 2 more of the Evolution paint guns.

I critically checked all reviews, available articles and movies i found until i posted my order for two guns with the available needle sets. Since i am located in Munich-Germany and have to pay for additional freight and taxes it was a hard decision whether to order or not but now i am glad that i did. I was waiting with the spraying of both sides of a Chevy Venture until the guns arrived. Fresh out of the box i precautionary removed the cup gasket cleaned it thoroughly and filled up the paint. Only with a small air and mixture adjustment (no Pre-test) i sprayed both sides (1.4) with a very excellent result in both coats. I was very surprised that the Evolution does a equal job as my expensive Satas. Eastwoods Gun description is like it is - true: Ergonomic, lightweight and very easy to handle and use with a cool design! The Evolution is my favourite gun now and i will order another (third) one for Primer use and also the bigger Aluminum cup. It is a pity that there is no gasket set available. Think about it, Eastwood. Thanks!

This gun is exactly what I needed to spray a 2-part epoxy system onto Fiberglass. I easily adapted it to different consistencies of a high build primer, paint and clear coat. I used a basic single stage compressor and ranged the pressure between 22 and 40 lbs. I also adjusted the volume to match the spray and the conditions of the day. This is a great gun, especially for the $$.

Just got the gun, have only painted one item. Not sure about spay pattern yet. Does not seen very wide, however i may need just more practice using the gun. Over all the gun seems fine. I just wish they would include a more complete instruction manual with it. I think i will be fine.
