About Stitch Welder (Welding Rods Not Included)

This Stitch Welder consists of a one-piece metal body with insulated handle, power cord, and the power head that contains a special solenoid. The solenoid moves the welding rod in and out just a fraction of an inch very rapidly to quickly make and break the electric contact at the end of the welding rod, so it's easy to start and maintain the arc.

Safely weld sheet metal as thin as 22-gauge, thanks to a reduction diode that reduces output by half, and lets you use AC arc welders set to 80 amps or less. All circuits have a 100% duty cycle. The arc is self-starting, so there's less chance of the rod sticking. Once you strike the arc, lay the rod on the metal and let the machine do the work. The resulting bead is smooth, and the slag comes off in large pieces.

Use your standard arc welding rods up to 3/32"; works best with 1/16" (none included). Always use a “non-aggressive” welding rod. (Electrodes classified as type 6010 or 6011 are too harsh.) Mild steel rods such as type 6013 and 7014 produce the spraying arc that works best on light metal.

We suggest using Eastwood’s 1/16" Arc Welding Rods (sold separately; click on "Accessories" tab).

You must practice first. Use non aggressive rods like 7014 or 6013 ac rods. Learn to run them as cold as possible and still form a good bead and seam. Worth every penny and not available anywhere in Canada accept through Eastwood.
Great results.
Thanks

Terry
