    Details

Versa-Cut 40 Plasma Cutter easily slices through materials up to 3/8" thick. Our Eastwood-designed plasma cutter is your smartest choice for making clean, fast cuts through steel, stainless or aluminum as thin as 24-gauge, or as thick as 3/8". Compared to mechanical cutting, our Versa-Cut 40 Plasma Cutter works significantly faster, and makes curved and intricate cuts more easily and precisely. Inverter technology offers superior arc stability and plasma cutting power using either 110 or 220 volts, making this a portable unit that is also light weight. A built-in pilot arc system allows for instant arc striking and ease of use when cutting rusty material and expanded metal. The internal moisture separator helps to ensure clean dry air gets to the torch to give you consistent results.

About Eastwood Plasma Cutter 40 Amp Versa-Cut

This innovative, affordable, plasma cutter was designed and developed by Eastwood's own R&D staff, and tested in-house on the same type of real-life projects you'll use it for. It doesn't matter where you need to work, because this plasma cutter's voltage-sensing technology lets you use either a 110v or 220v outlet with our adapter cord. Works with any standard home- or shop-type air compressor within a range of 20-65 psi; internal moisture separator ensures dry air is delivered to the torch. Rated 140 volts at 40 amps. Duty cycle: 60% at 40 amps. Weighs less than 30 lbs., for easier portability.

What is "Plasma Cutting"? Plasma cutting utilizes a high-velocity jet of ionized gas (plasma) that conducts electricity from the torch of the plasma cutter to your metal workpiece. That directed plasma stream (about 30,000 degrees F) heats the workpiece, converting the metal to molten slag. That high-velocity stream literally blows the molten metal away, leaving clean, precisely cut metal.

I work for a large restoration company and we needed a plasma cutter for fabrication needs. Works well, but I would not transport it regularly due to the cheaply made housing.

I like the machine. Shipping was fast. Everything worked out of the box. My issue was the pricing. There were 2 different prices on e bay. I had the higher price saved in my favorites. I realized what happened after I ordered it and called Eastwood. They refused to give me the sale price even though the machine was on sale on ebay at the time of my purchase. So much for the great customer service I've heard about from others.

I have used this unit several times on 1/4" metal, so far so good. This unit should come with it's own water/oil separator I had to add my own it states it has one inside but you have to take the cover off to get to it I guess? Instead of giving you a hand held welding shield they should give you there Eastwood glasses, Instead of the chipping hammer they should give you more consumables. Will Give another review later on down the road on the extensive useage.

Picked up my Plasma today. Took it right out of the box, made all the connections and was cutting right away. I have used industrial plasma cutters and for the price and voltages being used this unit works perfect. Could not be happier

I recently purchased this machine and have used it 3 times. The thing is very simple to hook up and use. I am very pleased with the performance, I have cut 1/4" steel down to 18 gauge and it performed flawlessly. I am worried about consumable life but after cutting with it several times, I am not seeing any wear on the tip. I do wish it came with more consumables than 2. Quite pleased, hopefully this thing holds up well. Appears to be well made and much better torch than the Chinese models on eBay I was considering for slightly less money.

I bought this plasma cutter with the mig 135 and watched all the videos on using both. The welder worked great, but the plasma cutter will not work. Will contact Eastwood during the week, because there are not any techs working the weekend. Very disappointed with item.

This works well for me once I get used to the full bodied tip. I am cutting .060 steel in tight detail and would like to see a reduced nozzel in order to see the pattern I am following. Cutting American Flags and the stars are difficult, I am getting the hang of it though. The tips I purchased are of no use and do not help in seeing the tip or pattern. Other than that the product is great, far superior to the entry level cutter I burned up. Some instruction or helpful hints would help with the cutter, learning from experience could be shortened, a handbook would be nice. Thanks for your concern.

Merry Christas & Happy New Year

Like others, I was willing to trade off a few issues for the price. But, I must have bought the right one or they have improved the quality. I rec'd mine in November 2013 and not one issue – works 100% as advertised. I am a rookie so some chart/guide for power & air pressure for metal thickness would be nice, but at the end of the day it hasn’t taken long to figure out, some quick practice on samples gets me there. I’m using it for mostly sheet metal and some exhaust running at 220V. Within 3 minutes of owning, I had cuts that at quick glance looked like they were snipped. The cut line is clean and thin, much thinner than expected. Since most things I cut get welded back together, the cleanliness of cuts exceeded my expectations. I put price and value at 5 stars because I started looking at these 10-15 years ago when the sub-$1000 mark was unheard of, regardless of where it was built. And still today, there aren’t that many options. But Eastwood eventually made me an offer I couldn’t refuse – I purchased it on sale, with free freight, and a free plasma cutting guide – which I wanted anyway. So I am ecstatic on price & value. And once I started using it, I realized should have bought one years ago, even though it would have cost more $$$. I’ve got a growing list of things to use it for. I'm sure I'm going to run into features I'd like to see but currently enjoying the honeymoon.
