About Eastwood Plasma Cutter 40 Amp Versa-Cut

This innovative, affordable, plasma cutter was designed and developed by Eastwood's own R&D staff, and tested in-house on the same type of real-life projects you'll use it for. It doesn't matter where you need to work, because this plasma cutter's voltage-sensing technology lets you use either a 110v or 220v outlet with our adapter cord. Works with any standard home- or shop-type air compressor within a range of 20-65 psi; internal moisture separator ensures dry air is delivered to the torch. Rated 140 volts at 40 amps. Duty cycle: 60% at 40 amps. Weighs less than 30 lbs., for easier portability.

What is "Plasma Cutting"? Plasma cutting utilizes a high-velocity jet of ionized gas (plasma) that conducts electricity from the torch of the plasma cutter to your metal workpiece. That directed plasma stream (about 30,000 degrees F) heats the workpiece, converting the metal to molten slag. That high-velocity stream literally blows the molten metal away, leaving a clean, precise cut.
Includes: Versa Cut 40 unit, torch assembly, ground clamp assembly, 110/220V adapter cord. Agreat addition to your Plasma cutter is the Plasma guide 13689.

My first plasma cutter was defective, but Eastwood replaced it with absolutely no hassle. I've had it for 5 months and used it more than I thought I would. This is one impressive little unit. It makes my old cutting torch look dumb. I would definitely recomend this for anyone looking for an affordable plasma cutter.

at first i was skeptic about buy this unit. how could they sell the same item at a fraction of the price. i did my homework and gave this thing a shot. i am amazed and impressed with the cutting abilities of this little big machine. i own a body shop and use this thing almost on a daily basis. theirs nothing this thing can not cut. Cuts down on oxy/acceteleyne torch use tremendously. does not severly warp metal or cause unwanted fires when cutting with traditional torches.keep up the good work eastwood. thanks

I received the cutter, set it up, and started cutting. I only had a 110 volt plug so I used it. I tried cutting 3/16 plate and it had trouble making it though. I put In a 50 amp 220 volt plug.Wow what a difference. it cut the 3/16 like it was butter. It is like cutting with a Laser. This is easy to use. A short learning curve and you are cutting. This is the first Plasma cutter I have used and recommend buy this unit. If you are looking for a plasma cutter go ahead and spend the money for this one. I looked online before I purchased and Eastwood's had the best review. sure you can by a cheaper one but a little extra money and you have a great cutter.

I got my first unit in January and it lasted 2 minutes, but the Eastwood support team got me another one in a few weeks and it has been a great tool. I've cut 1/2" flat ( its took a couple of passes but once I cleaned the slag off with a grinder it looked like a cut it with a saw. The torch head can be run along a piece of angle iron as a guide(3/8" offset) for straight cuts. 1/4 " is like cutting paper, I'm very happy with the unit. this is my second purchase of Eastwood products, I have a Mig 175 which I've run 40 pounds of wire thru and have had no issues, it's worked perfectly

got the plasma cutter the end of feb and started to play in 110 mode. it worked well in really light stuff. when i got a recepticle to plug in the 220, LORD HAVE MERCY. This is the only thing that i have been looking for my whole life,(other than my wife ,or course) I dont know how i have lived without it for so long. I needed to take some parts off an old cub cadet mowing deck that i was scrapping the other day. The bolts were rusted beyond getting a wrench on them. I fired the little beast up and blew right through half inch steel. One of the things that i really like is the fact that since the heat is so concentrated, there is no metal distortion, and the metal around it cools to the touch very quickly. I love it so much, that my wife is getting worried. thanks andy myers .

Purchased two weeks ago and pulled out of the box and got busy! This little sucker works better than I expected. My son borrowed it three days after I got it and was so impressed that he hasn't brought it back yet! Highly recommend.
