I was very leery at first. I ordered the product and tried it straight away. Worked like a charm without to much trouble. Easy directions smooth application.

Be sure to protect other areas of your vehicle that you are not working on as the over spray is quite messy, but easily cleaned.

I never got around to cleaning off the seagull poop from our 2010 Honda Pilot after a vacation at the beach. It was two obnoxious droppings, one being in the line of sight and too much for the windshield wiper fluid to handle. My wife took things into her own hands and "scrub padded" the windshield with some windex. This left a 4 inch scratch/abrasion mark that was 10x worse than the poop. After trying regular glass cleaners..nothing worked. I checked the local auto parts store for some glass polish of sorts, but no luck. I called window chip professionals and they said they cant do anything about scratches. I called a windshield place, they suggested a new windshield for approximatly $800. Then odered this product, used as directed with a cordless drill and 20 minutes of careful polishing..Whaalaa..perfect shiny clear glass!

15 minutes with a cordless drill removed severe wiper haze from a 10 by 10 inch area.

Remmeber that sand pits or true scratches are far, far deeper than microscopic wiper haze. This compound cannot hope to remove them. And failing to have the glass and the polishing puck completely clean will certainly cause new scratches.

I did receive white cerium oxide powder in the kit.

I bought a used '96 Audi A4 with 159K miles that had significant windshield sand pitting from extended highway driving in some sandy state somewhere. I used a variable-speed polisher at the recommended 1500rpm on one 4" diameter spot for 30 minutes and I couldn't remove even the smallest sand pits. Since the polishing compound is red, I suspect that the polish that comes with the kit is Iron(III), or ferric oxide, also known as jeweler's rouge, rather than the more commonly used cerium oxide which is white. Cerium oxide cuts quite a bit faster, but it is said that iron(III) oxide will give a superior finish. Anyway, if you have any kind of sand pitting, forget the sanding and polishing and get a new windshield.

Ordered on Monday, received Wednesday, polished windshield Thursday. Done!
Glass looks like new, even glossy like new, had very bad marks in wiper path.
Took a few hours of elbow grease but the results are fantastic.
I tried using a palm DA sander with hook it pad but that didn't work as good as cordless drill.
I found I could put more buffing pressure with the drill, but was harder to steady it.
    Very happy with results!

Thanks to others who posted their experiences and recommendations. I bought this to polish out the fine scratches the previous owner of my Mazda 3 left in the windshield from running the wipers with dirt or when they were dry. Before applying this product, there was a pretty severe haze left in the wiper paths. I tried cleaning the windshield, waxing it, using a clay bar, none of these removed the fine scratches. After some elbow grease and using this product the scratches are all but gone. I spent a couple of hours with my cordless drill, lots of water, and tired arms, but at the end, all but the deepest scratches were absolutely gone. I can only faintly see the very deepest ones. It is a night/day difference in my windshield. I am completely impressed with how well this product works. As others have mentioned, it will take some pressure and lots of water. Your arms will probably get pretty tired, but the effort is well worth it. I called a local glass repair shop who said they couldn't get these scratches out...will be calling them to tell them this product works. I think it is a bit overpriced for what you get, but it works. I would have preferred a few more application pads and an extra drill attachment for the money...but this is still way cheaper than a windshield replacement. Thanks Eastwood!!

Just bought a '97 Taurus. Must have lived on a dirt road as the driver window and windshield were scratched. Did the driver window first, as the scratches were so bad it was a safety hazard. The results were amazing. The glass looks new. When completed the windshield was nearly perfect with exception of the deepest scratches from tip of the wiper blades. Follow the directions and take your time and you will get great results. Use a sponge to keep the surface wet. One suggestion: make sure to tape off the bottom of the door windows so the compound doesn't run into the doors. The compound will splatter. In closing, I saved hundreds of dollars in glass replacement.

The Diamond Fast Powder "might" work well if you use a palm type buffer-polisher, I don't know yet. But after using a low speed cordless drill and the polishing pad included in the kit, I created numerous circular scratches on my truck windshield. Damn. And I used a spray bottle of water to keep it wet. I will buy and try a palm type buffer-polisher next, and hope that I will be able to remove the original and the newly created scratches. Do not use a drill. It is practically impossible to hold it steady (without wobble), especially leaning-reaching over a windshield.

I am working on an 07 F150 that was scratch up from a person using a Scrotch brite pad (lots of small scratches all over). I work on the glass last weekend and I'm very pleased with the results I see do far. A couple more weekends and the glass should be looking like new. It is a slow process and you should plan on taking your time when using this product. Work slowly and keep the glass wet, a spray bottle of water work very well for me. I have 56 Fairlane that I am planning on using this product on when I am finished with the F150.
