4 tries did not work on vinyl armrest
(Posted on 12/30/11)
Review by Mark -
1. I used this on a 92 Cadillac on the driver's door armrest. It took a while to match the color and it initially looked great..Quality Price Value
2. After a few months it cracked and started peeling off. I tried it again and it still did not work so the armrest cracked more. I wondered if ArmorAll may have been used so...
3. I bought another door panel/armrest from the junkyard with smaller cracks. This time I used backer cloth, sanded the vinyl and used alcohol to thoroughly clean it and let it dry. I tried again and it looked great, but this one peeled off and cracked too and looked like a mess. Some parts stuck okay but most crumbled, came off over time.
4. Like another reviewer, I figured this stuff could not handle flexing on vinyl. I decided a hard surface may not crack so I dug out the foam in the armrest beneath the crack in the vinyl and filled it with ShoeGoo (it's the bomb). I bought another repair kit just in case the first one was defective. This repair failed as well so I gave upon it. -
vinyl center console
(Posted on 3/27/11)
Review by 80Indy -
I was very impressed with this repair kit & for the price its a very good deal. I repaired the vinyl center console on my car that had some minor tears and cuts. It does take some practice to really get the hang of it, so start in a spot that wont be all that noticeable (if possible). After I had the hang of it, its a breeze to use. Color matching wasnt an issue for me since i was dying the interior after repairing it anyway. If your repairing small tears this is a nice kit, just take your time & follow the directions. Some spots you have to do a few times to build up the repair material, just take your time...patience patience patienceQuality Price Value -

Used this kit on a rip in my leather drivers seat. Looks good, especially considering it would cost alot more to replace. Some left over for additional repairs too.Price Value Quality -
Not for upholstery
(Posted on 1/26/10)
Review by Skeeziks -
Advertised for repair of upholstery and padded dashboards. I repaired a tear in uphostery. Initially, I was very pleased. But within a few weeks the repair failed. I think the process would work nicely on a stationary dash but it does not seem able to withstand the stress and stretch to which it is subjected on upholstery.Quality Price Value
