I bought this backing pad to use the stripping disks #31086. Works well, installs easlily on the grinder and disks attach with velcro like system.

One thing to watch out for, though. Max RPM is 10,000 RPM, so I had to shop around for a 4.5 inch grinder that didn't exceed that. Got a Metabo from Amazon, and it works better than my DeWalt!

Also, as the disks wear down, be careful not to burn the backing plate up. I burned some of the edge velcro hooks when the disks got too small, but it still works fine. I bought a spare one just in case this one finally let go.

Overall, with the stripping disks, I hightly recommend this item.
