HVLP Paint Gun - Eastwood Evolution
Product Review (submitted on April 9, 2013):
First let me say I am a big Eastwood fan and loyal customer. I buy all of my powder from them and most of my other auto restoration supplies. I usually think that if Eastwood sells it, it must be good. My friend Mark thinks the same. He bought one of these guns right after they came out. I used it only once and did not like it. I have been painting for 35 years, so I do know what I am doing. No matter what I did, I could NOT get a nice fan pattern with good flow and even coverage. I tried completely disassembling and cleaning; no difference. I switched to my DeVilbiss, and the paint sprayed beautifully. At $4 - $5 per ounce for Dupont Chroma Base, you don't want to waste much paint. I told my friend to get a refund on it, and he has since purchased a DeVilbiss GTI. It may not be fair to compare Eastwood’s gun to the DeVilbiss, but if Eastwood is going to market the gun as “resulting in a finish you'd normally expect from more expensive, higher-end, professional guns”, they better take a good look at the gun. I was not impressed.
