It is easy to use, and one kit will last a long time! I have used this to repair broken tabs, post and have even used this with the modling bar to make replacment parts..all around use for everything. The clear kit you can repair broken tail lights and polish and wont see the repair, black and white can be used in everything..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Used this for many years! I bought this kit several years ago to repair some hard plastic dash parts on a 70 Challenger. Used it to weld two broken pieces together with great success. Since I have used it on items including vintage stereo equipment to repair and weld back together broken or cracked parts inside of turntables. Worked great on those. Item's utility is only limited by your imagination! Smelly product-but effective!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I used this product on a guitar chainsaw case with a broken tab causing one of the latches to be non-functional. I watched the included video and then set about to making the repair. The case is black and I was uncertain what type of plastic it was manufactured from. I was able to recast the broken tab by molding one of two remaining tabs and the finished product looks flawless. The case dates from 1981 and is no longer made. I recently saw a chainsaw case on an auction site for $249.00. This product worked great and saved me a lot of money!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from works but not easy It works but n ot as easy as the dvd. The dropper is very poor quality so it makes use difficult. After one use it was very clogged and I have to throw it out. The mold bar was not as easy to use as the video seemed to make it either. However with that said when it does set up it is really impressive how strong it is. It files easily. So for 30 dollars it more than paid for itself repairing the tab on my camaro dashboard. Doing larger parts is going to be difficult with the dit provided. It may just take more practice on my part too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Plastic Repair Kit Great product and works just as advertised. Just don't expect to get PlastiFix... I ordered Plastifix and they sent me Plastex for some reason. Worked well anyways to fix the front grill of my '70 Charger that had missing tabs and cracks everywhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's like welding for plastic! I recently bought a classic car and found that the plastic grille had broken studs and several areas where the plastic was broken and missing. The grille for this automobile is no longer available or reproduced and used ones are just as bad. Earlier I had watched a youtube video of this product and figured I had nothing to lose so I tried it. The product works extremely well, like the title says, its like welding plastic. I was able to reform the missing areas and repair the broken studs, stronger than new. A tip from youtube is to use the broad foil tape that is used for sealing air conditioning ducts (not duct tape) to help form the area for the repair. This will help you to make the shape very close to the original, after which you can cut, and sand. Here are some photos of my repairs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic product but This product saved my main part of the dashboard. It was cracked in many places and is no longer available to replace. The stuff works as it says now for the "but" as the other reviewer has said about the mold bar use a pan you don't need for cooking food again to heat it up for molding because it does leave residue on the pan. I used it to recreate a boss for a mounting screw area and it worked fine. You must have a Dremel tool for prep and fine finishing of mounting surfaces.

I have a 2 inch x 1 inch gap (cracked missing piece) on an acrylic window pane which is 1/4 inch thick. Can I mold the clear Plastex to a 1/4 inch thick piece 2" x 1" to fill the gap and then use a "glue" to bind the Plastex to the remainder of the pane

Asked by: RandyG
This gap will be too large to make a patch piece from any adhesive.

I have a 5th wheel camper with a plastic/fiberglass front cap that has 3 cracks. I'm thinking of removing the cap and repairing the cracks from the back side. Will this product work for this? can I use fiberglass mesh with it for reinforcement?

Asked by: PFT64
This kit was not made for any fiberglass repairs, only rigid plastics. For fiberglass repairs you'll need actual fiberglass material: http://www.eastwood.com/usc-fiberglass-repair-kit-cloth.html

I understand that it "works on all plastics" but my worry is regarding textured plastic. Will it look to "smooth"?

Asked by: DCota
It completely depends on how it is applied, but it's designed specifically to repair plastic parts, not to duplicate a particular finish.
