Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product I've used a ton of this on the last 3 chassis resto's I've done. Works great! Covers well. Very durable when used with the chassis paint as top coat.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great coating I used this on my Jeep Wrangler as a rust preventer, and it was very easy to apply, we will see how it does through the winter but I have high expectations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Stuff Is Fantastic My local body shop wanted nearly $1000 to replace my front bumper. Instead, I ordered the black rust encapsulator and planned to cover it with a bra. After some minimal sanding, I applied two coats and it looks fantastic! I have the bra, but I don't even need it. It matches my front grill, so you don't even notice it's not painted metallic grey as it was. I would not hesitate to use this on anything that rusts. I told all my friends I would want to be a distributor I believe in this stuff so much. I also told them I would help with their projects as it was easy and enjoyable to work with. It covered and and sealed like a dream. I will be buying again soon.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Product Love this stuff! I've been using it on the restoration of a 51' Ford F1 / Rust Bucket. Coats very well. I've always managed to get it on sale - so cost is not too much of an issue. My only issue with it is that the quality of the spray can seems sub-par. Does the job; however, wish it were in a better / more ergonomically correct can - like the 2K sprays.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Results I just bought a used SUV that had been subjected to some harsh winters with some light rust spots in places on its independent suspension elements. I brushed off the loose rust and sprayed on the flat black encapsulator. It adheres well, dries quickly, and looks good. Drying time is minimal, especially in my low humidity environment. I can recommend the flat silver encapsulant too, which I also used in places. Eastwood's Rubberized Undercoating, which I have used in places, is a great product also. Based on my experience, I prefer the encapsulant treatment to a "rust convertor" that I tried from another company.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great product, if you can get it out of the can Once it's on the metal it's as great as always. Unfortunately had a lot of trouble getting it out of the can with consistency in 92 degree weather and high humidity. When I thought I would be stopping for any appreciable amount of time, I turned the can upside down and sprayed clear, but the aerosol delivery was consistently progressively clogging even when using it constantly. Had to clear the nozzle with a needle and pick several times to get my full can's worth and this was all used on the same day. I will continue to use it, however, I hope this issue will be resolved as it otherwise a great project.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product is awesome I bought this to touch up my engine compartment on my 72 Mustang convertible. I brushed off the rusty areas with a wire brush, scuffed up everything, wiped it all down with acetone and applied. I used two or three wet coates to get great coverage and I'm sure there won't be any rust coming back any time soon. Eastwood products really perform to their claims. I was planning on spraying a semi-gloss black over this to match the stock gloss levels, because the matt really isn't concours for a Ford, but it looks so good that I decided to paint the rest of the engine compartment with this product. It looks that good!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Applies as advertised_only time will tell This product seems to be exactly what it says it is. Application was just as advertised. It did a nice job finding nooks and crannies, weeping through cracks that I did not know existed, even on top of the frame. I applied it to a small frame (Triumph GT6) and it seemed to take about 1.5 cans. Only time will tell if it actually prevents rust. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 was that I have no idea if it will work over time and of course I cannot actually see in the frame to confirm coverage (though as mentioned above it seemed to 'go deep')

Rust Encapsulator can be applied with the Undercoating System, but this application isn't recommended because Rust Encapsulator requires surface to be free of grease, oil, and loose rust. The best product to coat inside box sections is the Heavy Duty Anti-Rust (16017ZP). This waxy, oily product flows into pinch welds & through rust to seal surface from contact with moisture & air, but cannot be painted over so is only suitable for inside box sections that don't show. Use lacquer thinner for cleanup.

Work in a well ventilated area when applying this product. The use of a respirator like our Professional Respirator (34029) is recommended when applying this coating. Shake vigorously for 2 mins before spraying !!
