Rated 1 out of 5 by from Keep This Away From the underside of your hood!!! I have been restoring the front end of my 72 K20 down to frame and have purchased many paint products from Eastwood and have been happy. All worked fine except this product. I never write reviews but feel its important to warn people of this product. If you get any sort of overspray or drip of gas, cleaner, brake fluid (of course most things don't have a chance with brake fluid) the paint will just fall off! I have never seen paint literally disintegrate on contact. If I do any work under the hood, I need to cover all the underhood paint to protect it?!?! just do yourself a favor and use engine paint or something that can actually resist harmful chemicals.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good finish, but doesn't cover well This paint leaves a nice final finish, but be aware that it doesn't cover well. It seems to have a low solids content, and requires lots of coats to black out a part. I recommend applying black primer first, before applying this paint.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from nice looking paint but.... Painted the air filter and inside fenders on my 67 F100, the look is fenomenal but the quality....I needed to put gas in the carburator and spill some on the air cleaner and inner fender, the paint just came right off! even thou it had been a month since I painted it! how can it be "under the hood paint" when you know it comes off with gasoline?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Underhood Black Aerosol I have been using this product on my 1970 RS Camaro and this product has been Outstanding. It gives me the finish I prefer and is so easy to use and looks Great. I recommend it highly and will continue to use this in the completion of this and future projects.I have used it over black primers with out any coverage issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great finish,a bit expensive but is worth it. Very good product, dries out fast and covers very well, way better than Home Depot paint, its worth every penny in my opinion, might not be perfect for the intended purpose (underhood) because it is not solvent-resistant but is perfect for small parts, it will outperform any other aerosol type paint of any brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Paint This worked great under the hood of my 69 Fury. I used two different brands of paint under the hood for varying effects of gloss and I should have just used all Eastwood. Went on great and dried fast. The difference was amazing and really made the engine bay look great.

About Underhood Black Semi Gloss Aerosol 11 ounce

Underhood Black is the correct shade of black, having just the right 10-20% semigloss finish most car manufacturers used on radiator supports, inner fender walls, lug wrenches, jack bases, underhood brackets, and other parts. Hardware store black paints are either too thick, too glossy, or the wrong color. Just clean, degrease, and prepare the parts well, then spray on for a "factory-like" finish. This acrylic lacquer withstands up to 250 degrees F and goes on thin for a satin smooth finish which does not hide surface details. One aerosol covers 6 square feet.
