Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Just opened up the box and wow what a difference between the E-Bay chinese units and this one the first thing i noticed was the torch was a trafimet with a real trigger not like the one i returned with a little flapper for a button, and it came with a flow guage to check the pressure coming out of the torch. The only thing i wished it had was a 20' ground cable to match the 20' torch, would make sense right. I noticed the post flow was longer than my previous unit witch i feel will extend the tip life a lot. I use this for hobby use at home and with 60 amps available it's more than enough. Will write a review after using it for more than a couple times.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cuts like butter, 7/8" is not an understatement. After making the mistake of buying a $300 cheapo I was considering a pricey name brand unit. The Eastwood catalog arrived just in time with the Versa-Cut 60 at about half the price of the big guy. I read the reviews, it had a 3-year warranty, Eastwood seems respectable, I decided to try it and was not disappointed. The quality of construction seems good. It has a normal 220v 50amp plug end on it so I didn't have to add a connector. I did add an inexpensive air filter and I was cutting! It really is like magic the first time you use a plasma. I won't keep typing here because have made a video review from the standpoint of a beginner with a plasma cutter. Bottom line, good machine, good price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little machine My point of comparison is torch cutting. This is so much better. It does a pencil lead thin cut in 1/4" steel with no slag buggers on the bottom. No fuss, no muss, pretty much as fast as I can move the torch. Set up was easy. At first it didn't want to light up but I unplugged the hose and plugged it back in again and off it went. I tend to have shaky hands and the little wire guide that came with it is great for holding the tip at the right distance. I'm also learning to guide it against a piece of angle iron clamped to the piece I'm cutting. I still find it amazing that this thing can do what a torch can do with only air and electricity, and it does it so much better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cuts well, easy to use I bought this because I'm restoring/rebuilding a '65 F350 with a very rusty flareside bed and I knew there was a lot of metal removal ahead of me. The unit cuts well and works well but the air pressure adjuster doesn't work and I've been unsuccessful at getting any help from Eastwood. One of the reasons I bought this over a Lincoln was the price and the fact that others had commented in reviews about how responsive Eastwood was for tech support, but this has not been my experience. As long as you can regulate your air pressure ahead of the unit its fine. Like others, mine continues to blow air after releasing the trigger, which I assume is to cool parts, not sure, minor annoyance.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is my 3rd plasma cutter My 1st plasma cutter blew a capacitor and was replaced in a timely manner at no cost to me. The 2nd one was faulty right out of the box. It would not hold an arc. Ed in Tech diagnosed as a bad torch lead. I now have my 3rd cutter that appears to be working great. The customer service I received was outstanding with no questions asked and no cost to me. I lost some time but I guess that's life. Considering the cost savings and the customer service, I am tickled to death.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from wow ok guys, i bought a plasma cutter from you maybe a year ago. it was fun playing around with it. for my birthday, my lovely wife built me a new shop. its 24x32 with 10 ft ceiling. anyway, i moved my 60 gmc truck right in and started to get serious.the bolts are very rusted, or should i say were? in less than 5 hours i had the entire bed off the truck and disassembled with very minimal damage to anything other than the bolts.family and friends couldnt believe it. thanks again for a quality time saving tool. i am saving to order again soon. andy myers timberville va

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ADIOS CUT OFF WHEEL!!!!! This is my very first cut off wheel. Im a garage fabricator, for fun, and tired of the cut off wheel and trying to get fast cuts. Measure, use a guide, like an angle ruler, and watch it melt away like butter! SUPER IMPRESSED! SUPER EXCITED! And the 3 year warranty makes it all worth while. I had a Millermatic 211, sold for $930, picked up a combo deal on ebay, Versa 60 & MIG 175, for $1100 from Eastwood. Couldnt be happier!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Far Its Amazing I have an existing thermo dynamics plasma and a acetylene torch. The thermo dynamics is a nice machine but only cuts a 1/4 inch and the acetylene is awesome but can be a pain to use in certain areas. So I wanted a larger plasma and since any name brand is 2 to 3 times the cost and still not capable of the Versa 60 I thought what the heck ill try it. I cut some 1/4 stock like nothing, then for fun grabbed an old brake rotor, rusted bad, just clamped it on turned up the juice and bam sliced it right up. Spent the next couple hours cutting material for an awesome welding cart. Clamped a straight edge on some 16 gauge and this just glided right along cutting beautiful straight lines. The long cables are great as well. Great plasma cutter!

After reading the reviews it seems like this machine has a problem with failing diodes and Eastwood stands behind it. What about after, can you get parts for it after the 3 year warrantee is up?

Asked by: Woody 920
After the three years is up, you will still be able to get parts for that unit.

Just got my Versa Cut 60. What is the tube with the metal ball used for? Measure air flow from the torch? Might be a good idea to mention it in the manual.

Asked by: Mod11
It's used in the initial factory air flow testing for the machines. It's of no use to you or me once we get the machine.

I am building a CNC unit. I have a Panasonic P80 Machine CNC Plasma Torch Head that has the following spec: torch may work on your machine if you have HF/HV arc start. Does the Eastwood Machine have the HF/HV arc start?

Asked by: Poco
It does have an arc start BUT we do not recommend use on a CNC machine. Being MOSFET, the transistors in the unit may/will have an issue with the servo's for the machine.

Does it come with air filter/regulator? If not, do you sell one and the model number?

Asked by: Thecarmonkey
It has a small internal moisture catch, but does not come with one. I would recommend getting a QC3 51566
