Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great purchase and recommended to friends Easy to order, great shipping service, and the brake works very well. The machined surfaces are flat and accurate. Two Vice-Grip pliers quickly lock the metal plate to the brake table. Discovered one can also make a perfect folded edge by rotating and placing the work piece on the back side of the brake, which I cannot do with my other press type brake.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't beat this brake for 100 bucks I picked this brake up and have used it for occasional box-making with 20g steel. I have bent up to the 28" wide mark and it bends perfectly. I would recommend this brake for anyone who needs to bend thin steel.

Can I cold form poly carbonate plastic to a little over 90° bend in 3/16 thickness

Asked by: Peter Tank
Bending Polycarbonate is like bending 3/16 clear cast acrylic. Although polycab. will spring back unless heat is applied at the bend. Most plastics are bent using a heat strip. The temperature need to approach 250 degrees.

Need to fab a small area on the cargo floor of my old vw bus which is ribbed. It has sharp, thin ribs almost like an upside down V shape. Can this do that? That bar that gets clamped down on this brake looks too wide.

Asked by: Wren
You are right - this would not work well for that application. That is something you probably could probably do with a bead roller and stepped die set like this https://www.eastwood.com/eastwood-45-degree-step-roll-kit.html or this https://www.eastwood.com/step-roll-kit-1-8-in.html
