Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Clear Coat Great product! Went on well and no gun clean up when finished. Make sure you need all the product because it does not have much shelf life after mixing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2k today I was introduced to 2K back in the mid 2000's at Laconia Bike week .It was then when I airbrushed the blue fire and flames on Ricks tourng Helicopter which gave rides for the bike event..Awesome convenience and quality in a can no less. just want to say thankyou Eastwood

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2K Aerosol High Gloss Works Worked great over Alumina. Blow out the valve after each coat so the next coat doesn't sputter. You blow it out by inverting the can and spraying until paint doesn't come out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product The product was as described. Great matte finish which matched the factory matte finish unbleivably. The tip delivers an even spray allowing easy application.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2K Matte Clear Over 2K Rat Rod Matte The 2K paint worked great with the 2K matte black topcoat. One caveat, however, If you're using the same can for two different coats, with a 30 minute break, blow out the valve after the first coat so the second coat doesn't sputter. You blow it out by inverting the can and spraying until paint doesn't come out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from worked perfectly Exactly what I needed, great flow, loved the gun-like spray. I read, re-read and re-read the can a couple times and checked the website to make sure I was doing everything right. Great product, will buy again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth it x10000000000 After going through a few cans of duplicolor clear while repainting my bumper I was researching like crazy how to make it shiny with buffing and everything. Finally I saw someone say it’s your clear coat and they suggested this. I was hesitant because it’s three times the price but decided it was worth a shot. I knew immediately I made the right decision. This clear coat is actually glossy even before buffing and polishing. I’m sure once you do that it’s even more beautiful! It’s 1000% worth the extra money over duplicolor clear coat. If you are feeling like your top coat hasn’t no shine and frustrated as H$&! Try this!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the matte clear coat! I am reviewing the matte clear coat finish. I had some flaws (deep sanding marks in my primer that I was unable to remove. I had issues with the paint dripping on my motorcycle fuel tank (first time to use HVLP, but adjusted the gun setting and the rear fender was painted flawlessly) and decided to run a stripe of the matte on a scratched area of my tank after seeing how the clear coat had hidden under seat scratches on the fender. It completely hid those scratches! I love how well this product works, and how nice the clear coat looks after being applied! I will definitely be buying more for future projects!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than expected 2K clear coat. I take old guitars and give them new live and your 2K clear coat gives a deep/hard mirror like finish, really brings out the color of the paint. Very easy to use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product. Highly recommended I normally don't write reviews, but I was blown away by this product. Normally it's all marketing, but this really does spray like a gun. It's worth the price. Leave a high gloss shine that looks like it's from a gun.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Guitar Finish... I use the EW2K High-Gloss Clear for finishing the wood on guitars I restore. This finishing system works very well for this job. I applied the EW2K directly to the wood with no undercoats or primers. The finish goes on water-clear which helps show the beauty of the wood. It builds up very quickly and as a result, requires less finish to be applied. It cures to a hard finish that sands and polishes to a piano-like shine. I will continue to use EW2K for all my guitar restorations in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked great for me! I bought a can of this several years ago and never got around to using it until last weekend. This can had been sitting in a non climate controlled garage for a couple of years, at least 2 but more like 3 or 4. I just can't remember when I bought it. I decided to use it after sanding all the yellow out of my headlights. I got one done when it was kinda warm but the other I had to finish the following day. It was cloudy, windy and barely 50 degrees outside. It still sprayed good 24hrs after spraying the first one. It laid down nice and has a little flow out to it. I was really surprised it sprayed at all, much less 24hrs after it was mixed. I can't comment on the long term quality but I like what I see so far. I'm about to order some more to clear coat some interior parts on a project car I'm working on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing results over epoxy and enamel base coats I used this clear coat on a few small parts for a scooter to try it before I use it on something bigger. The first part was a panel I wanted white. For that I used 2K epoxy primer from Eastwood, then regular 1 part white epoxy as base coat and finished it with 3 coats of this 2K High Gloss Clear Coat. For the rear rack I did the same process, but used bright yellow enamel. I was curious to see if I would get some reaction from mixing enamel and epoxy, but the result has been amazing. It really looks and feels like a professional bodyshop job. So far has been very durable. I did sanded in between coats and since they were small parts, coats were generous.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great option for small repairs! I used this to touch up a bumper with peeling clear coat, and also used it to refinish a set of headlights (after wetsanding the yellowed coating off) and also refinish a pair of wheels with checked clear coat. I wasn't expecting perfection as these are daily driven cars, but I'm impressed with the results. IT TAKES A LONG TIME TO CURE, but once it does, it appears to be very durable. It's also very forgiving and lays smooth without runs. Recommend 100%

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great results The tail gate on my Dodge RAM was looking BAD... a poor paint job from a previous owner had the clear coat failed miserably, so I figured I couldn't make it look worse. I sanded down the tailgate, sprayed fresh primer, a few cans of color matching PS2 silver and then two cans of 2K Clear, and I'm totally happy with the results. Two cans was enough to give 4 coats over the whole tailgate. Easy to use, nice spray pattern. The only negative was the spray tip on one of the cans arrived broken, but I was able to pull out the broken piece and use the good tip from the other can. Pleased with the results, I'm going to redo a side fender next!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This was my first time using this product! The application was very easy. This is was the first time I ever clear coat anything, but after watching a few videos about applying and how far to hold the can from your surface this product really shined! LITERALLY! I would use this again and again! For the best results I recommend using this product indoors like a garage or shop, also wear a CHEMICAL MASK! Always be safe. I've attached some photos of my front bumper I just finished painting and clear coating. I have to say this product is amazing!

will it work on guitar bare wood ?

Asked by: jpoole
This would be a perfect clear to use on a bare wood guitar for a super glossy and durable finish. Since wood tends to absorb paint it is recommended to put on 2-3 initial coats and let cure. Then wet sand smooth and apply 3 more coats for the smoothest finish possible.

Used the 2k Matte Clear today over some Eastwood single stage urethane. Seemed to go on great and looks good but feels rough to the touch. Is this normal?   Conditions were good in the low 80’s with low humidity. Shot from about 12”.  Light sand and buff?

Asked by: Rolsdas
This could be a few things. Too little overlap when spraying could cause dry spray as well as the way you traveled across the panel when spraying. If the "roughness" is orange peel it could be the travel speed or distance you were from the panel when spraying. Matte Clear can be sanded and buffed but it won't be matte anymore and will get shiny. You could lightly sand the last coat and spray a drop coat over the surface focusing on your travel speed, overlap, and distance off the panel when spraying. Possibly spray out some test panels first to assure you have your technique down.
