Rated 5 out of 5 by from 1951 Chevy Truck Prepped & Painted with all Eastwood Products. Painted my 1951 Chevy Truck with all Eastwood products. Attached is a sample photo of the door (haven’t wet sanded and buffed yet). For this project I used Eastwood pre, epoxy, primer, candeez silver metallic, then parts with candeez vino rojo and even bought my paint/clear guns from Eastwood. I have used multiple people in Eastwood tech support and customer support, everyone has been patient and very helpful. I appreciate the support from Eastwood on this project. A+ Rating

Questions & Answers

Any tips or information on Cutting and Buffing Show Clear for Orange Peel? I'm using the 3M 1,2,3, steps. Still only comes up somewhat hazy shiny. Nothing even close to the original high gloss. Letting it set 72 hours before cut with 2k, 3k, 5k.

Asked by: Victor
"This clear may be wet-sanded and polished for increased depth and gloss. Start by sanding the finish with 1500 grit to abrade the surface and remove any slight imperfections or texture. Next, sand the entire surface with 2000 grit to remove the 1500 sand scratches. Follow with a high-quality finishing compound, then a finishing glaze applied by hand, or with a variable-speed buffer, to restore gloss."

what are the shelf life of the base and clear reducers and activators from Eastwood ? , I have had reducers go bad and activators from ppg brand before a couple of times that is why im changing brands im tired of ppg.

Asked by: dirtyharry
We will warranty these items for 90 days from the purchase date. Shelf life if stored in a temperature controlled environment, sealed and un mixed would be about 2-3 years on average.

I'm seeing a handful of people on here say a Reducer is strongly recommended. I don't see an Eastwood Preiumum Show Urethan Reducer listed anywhere on the website like the activators.what should i be using? and what is best mix?

Asked by: Corey
Oure Reducers are universal and can be used for a number of our items. Any of our Urethane reducers will work. We have slow, medium and fast and Zero VOC for Alberta, Canada and CA residents.

can i use Eastwood Premium show clear over nason full Base

Asked by: Wyndell
Unfortunately, we can not guarantee compatibility between our products and products/brands we do not sell. There is a chance a reaction can occur so we would have to advise you to test a small area first or on a scrap piece of metal.

I sprayed 3 coats of premium show clear over your single stage paint. I need to repaint some areas. Do I need to sand off all of the clear coat or can I abrade the clear coat with 600 or 800 grit and apply the single stage over the abraded clear coat?

Asked by: TH70
The clear can be abraded with 600-800 grit paper and then more applied.

I intend to apply 2 coats of this 4:1 clear over an intermix metallic color, then add some gold leaf, and another two coats of clear over top of the leaf. Product instructions say to wait 48 hrs for decals. How long before 1500 grit for the leaf?

Asked by: Nick
you will want to wait 24 hours before any scuffing or sanding
