Eastwood 4 Inch Extended Reach Air Cut Off Tool w/forward and reverse

Product Overview:

Description

Eastwood Pneumatic Reversible Cut-Off Tool gets into tight areas.

  • Forward and reverse cutting direction
  • Works with your 4" cut-off wheel (sold separately)
  • 14,000 RPM
  • 1/4" air inlet
  • Requires 7.1 cfm of air at 90psi
  • 1-year warranty

Unique, low-profile cutting-head cut off tool design lets you work the tool into tight areas to cut bolts, brackets, sheet metal, rod and for general metal fabrication.

4" extended reach cut off tool does not come with cut off wheels. We suggest purchasing the 4in Metal Cut-Off Wheel 1/16th. x 5/8 Arbor - 5pk. The #51680 utilizes 4” x 3/8” Arbor or 4” x 5/8” Arbor, minimum 15,000 RPM.

A must have in any shop

This pneumatic cut off tool is a must in any shop doing restoration projects or other metal fabrication. You'll use it for cutting patch panels, fabricating steel plate, removing damaged frame sections or simply cutting rusted bolts free. Finger-controlled knob offers "on the fly" speed adjustment that reduces wheel hop and prolongs cutting life by adjusting the speed to the type and thickness of material being cut.

Reversible Cutting Direction

One of the most important features is the reversible cutting direction. If you've ever used a grinder or cut-off tool where you could not control in which direction the sparks fly, you'll appreciate the ability here to reverse the cutting direction to send sparks away from you. No longer will you have to reposition your body and head at awkward angles to avoid spark contact—simply flip the switch and the sparks fly 180 degrees away from you, others or flammable objects.

Go where ordinary saws and grinding wheels can’t by ordering this reversible air cutting tool. It uses a 4-inch metal cut-off wheel (sold separately) to carve through steel and aluminum. We designed it with a 15-inch long reach to fit into wheel wells, engine bays and other tight areas. Since the wheel can spin in both forward and reverse, the user has full control over where the sparks fly, which improves shop safety. Other practical features include adjustable speed control, a low-profile cutting head and a 45-degree rotating safety guard.

Our Pneumatic Extended Reach Metal Cut-Off Tool is the fastest way to cut old bolts, rods and brackets that can’t be removed otherwise. It’s also a good tool for removing rusty sheet metal or doing general fabrication. The tool requires just 7.1 CFM of air using a ¼-inch NPT inlet. Watch the demonstration videos above or call Eastwood’s tech experts to learn more about how this tool helps you Do the Job Right. It comes with a one-year warranty and 100% customer satisfaction guarantee.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't do without this after using it a lot! I have been doing a lot of floor work on my 57 convertible with this tool.. Reversible rotation is a real blessing to keep sparks out of your face in tight spaces. Cuts very well and fast.. Also works good in shaping welds where you don't want to grind it flat. Light so I can hold it overhead much longer than electric grinders I also use. Can't see working without it at this point. May buy a 2nd one for backup just because it has become so essential that I can't see working without it for even a short time now. I have all kinds of air tools, but I use this one the most of any cutting and grinding tools. Faster than all the rest and versatile.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A very valuable tool to have! I have a older model of this cutoff tool from Eastwood and very glad I have it. Most recently used on 97 Jeep Wrangler chassis frame rot repair, with my 90 degree cutoff tool it would have been very difficult in tight areas. It must be a huge plus to have the reverse rotation to help keep the sparks out of your face. Bottom line I love it !!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ingenious i got this a few days ago and have used it to cut a floor out of an '84 D250. The forward/reverse feature, in conjunction with the extended reach, has made this tool invaluable. Great value and amazing utility! Worth every penny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Size and Control I am very pleased with this tool, the forward and reverse is a plus too. Easy to cut a straight line with the extra reach. The only problem is paid 150.00 and went on sale for 139.00 about week later.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can’t ask for more. I only used it once on .125 angle and it cut very well even through a mig welded area. I bought this tool for mostly sheet metal work. So I am very happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The right tools for the hard jobs I've been looking for the right cutting tool. Other tool suppliers just didn't have the tool I needed. Wheel Tubs and Metal Fabrication are hard enough. Especially when you use inferior tools.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A 10! This is the best and most versatile cut off tool I own. You won't be disappointed with this tool as long as your compressor can push the CFM required.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Want less iron in your diet? Then stop eating it.... Sick of getting blasted in the face? This reverse feature is the bomb. I build metal sculpture so I'm always in weird positions and I never have enough reach. Problem solved! Killer Product

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You need to have this tool in your tool box! This tool is great for getting into tight places. It is reversible, and has plenty of power. The regular price is a little high, but it is well worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tool I have been wanting this tool for quite some time but hating to spend the money. When Eastwood offered 25% off I bought it. I am very happy with this tool. It has good power and I love being able to reverse it if I need too. I like the length of the tool as it can get into tight places. The clamp that holds the guard on is made of I think a nylon type of plastic so you can rotate the guard easly by hand without any tools if you need to to control the direction of sparks somewhat and help get into a tight place. Great tool Eastwood.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Waited so long........ Like Chapel above, I have longed for this tool and bought it the first time I saw it listed. Would never want to do without it now. The long reach and reversible feature make it indispensible. Thanks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WHYAREN'T ALL CUT-OFF TOOLS REVERSABLE? MY FIRST TASK WITH THIS TOOL WAS TO CUT OFF A PIVOT ARM ON A SEMI TRAILER AXLE- WHAT A TIME SAVER. THE TOOL IS SMOOTH AND HAS PLENTY OF TORQUE. IT GETS BORROWED A LOT IN THE TRUCK ALIGNMENT SHOP WHERE I WORK.
Date published: 2010-11-07
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Every shop/car builder/mechanic should have one. I get so tired of having just one direction on my regular grinding tool. It seems like they make it so it will rotate in the direction of your eyes. I love the option of the reversable. You can stay in one position while cutting and not have to move to go in the other direction. This is one tool everyone should have. It's about time someone came out with this tool.
Date published: 2010-04-02
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth Your Investment...! Finally...! A cut off wheel tool that has a reversable drive system. I don't know how many time I have put up being sprayed with hot grinding sparks simply because the cut off tool only ran in one direction... Now cutting thru a panel or even chopping a frame rail is so much easier than before... Plus, the added reach of this tool allows you to get up into difficult areas and cut rusted bolts and straps with ease... This tool will pay for itself many times over in just the time saved in aggravation and time wasted trying to get something cut free or removed. Buy this tool... It'll be you new favorite that you reach for from now on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tool The thing that sold me on this tool is the ability to reverse it. I have been talking to power tool reps for years about reversable grinders and they look at me like I'm nuts. I just tell them "you don't have a clue what that tool is used for . You have never done fabracation work or repair welding on equipment or trucks" Even if the tool did not reverse I would still call it a great addition to my tool box. A very handy tool! By it, use it, love it!!
