Eastwood 4 in Metal Bender is rated 3.2 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product This item performs exactly as described. I needed to make 14 “L” shaped brackets from 3/16 mild steel. The first took some time to get right but once that was done, I just used the same settings and was able to get 13 identical bends in about 15 minutes. Much better result in less time than using a vise, a torch, and some vise grips. Completely satisfied with its performance.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent product The quality of the product is excellent, however the end stop is not very functional but it can be used (I will find a better way). Well packed and easy to get up and working. It is difficult to center your bends because there is really nothing to align to. The die opening measures approximately 1 5/8 inch. I laid these lines out on my part and was able to get the part aligned good enough for what I was doing. If you are trying to make a matching pair of parts, I recommend bending them both at the same time if it is within the capacity stated. It proved difficult to bend a matching pair. The scale on top is net reliable for repetitive bend angles. I hope these tips are helpful. It does the job but is just a bit finicky. It is much better and easier than heating something up in your vise and pounding it over!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good bench top bender Bought this after returning compact bender from HF. The 2 previous reviews did not help much but the video showed what it can do. I can make an accurate u bend under just under 2” with this and with the top guage I can repeat the degree of bend fairly well. Does not torque the table top like the compact bender and takes much less space to use. One hint place something around the bend point at least as high as the inside where your piece sits that way you can use it to keep your piece straight while bending.

can this make cylinders

Asked by: someguy
Unfortunately this tool is not designed to make cylinders. It simply bends the metal at angles. Our Slip roll tools are designed for making cylinders.

Lets say I need to make two 90 degree bends in a small piece of sheet metal, to form a a "U" channel, with right angles at the bottom. What is the smallest distance between the outside edges I could hope to make?

Asked by: RandyCCC
This tool will not be your best option for what you are trying to create. Our Versa bend sheet metal brake with optional 20411 Forming brake will allow you to get a channel as small as 3/8th of an inch.

I need to bend an 8" long x 1.25" wide x 3/16" flat bar with a 1" radius bend at the 4" mark. My question is can I tack on a piece with the radius I need on both dies. I am thinking of a 1" pipe cut in half tacked to both dies front and back. Thanks

Asked by: Eric802
This would require modifying the tool which is something we have no experience with.
