Get rid of old spot welds by drilling them out with this high-quality tool developed by our R&D guys. The Eastwood 5/16-inch (8-mm) Spot Weld Drill makes drilling out spot welds for panel removal a less tedious and much safer job. It features an automatic bit advance feature with positive spot-weld cutting depth adjustment and a removable backing hook. The set-screw drill bit retaining design provides convenient and secure cutting bit changes. Its high-torque motor requires just 4-CFM at 90-PSI, meaning you can connect it to pretty much any shop compressor.
Using a spot weld drill cutter is the fastest and easiest way to strip body panels from classic cars during the restoration process. It comes with a quick connect air fitting, one bit, a screw wrench and instructions. We also sell replacement spot well drill bits if you have a big project ahead. Watch our product video below or call our experts seven days a week for technical advice.
Thoroughly read and understand these product instructions before using the Eastwood Spot Weld Drill. Use ANSI approved safety glasses. Everyday eyeglasses are NOT safety glasses.

My new favorite toolThis thing is so much better than any other tool I've used. Simply line the but up with it spot weld and press the trigger. It locks into place and drills the spot weld out in a couple of seconds. The time I saved is well worth the price!

What a time saver!Bough this spot weld drill for working on the restoration of my 1953 Allard K3, specifically the battery box I needed to replace. The original box was held in by about 125 spot welds, and trying to drill these out with an electric drill and spot-weld cutter would be time consuming, and prone to damaging the underlying panel. This tool made short work of the spot welds, saving me time and frustration, which alone justified the price. Easy to adjust and use with or without the backing handle. Highly recommend this if you have more than just a few welds that need to be drilled out!

Better than I had hoped...I've been drilling out spot welds the old fashioned way for decades (Blair cutters) but decided to buy this tool a couple months ago. I had been under the impression that it could "only" be used with the arm, hence limiting it to spots where it could reach around__I was wrong! You can remove the arm and use it "freehand style" and it handily beats the old method for ease and speed!
I am VERY PLEASED with this tool, and wish I hadn't waited so long to buy it.
A tip: ease into the trigger slowly, allowing it to "clamp" before running the bit up to speed.

Does this tool come with a deeper arm? I need to get to spot welds that are a couple inches away from the edge of the panel. Or can you take the arm off and still use it?
Asked by: Chris64
Unfortunately, we do not have any alternate length options as far as arms for this tool. This arm can be removed, but for best results the arm should be left on.
