Easy to use. Easy to set up. Nice Clean cuts.We had this shear in a shop I worked in and it lived up to every expectation. It cuts through heavy gauge steel like a hot knife through butter. Well. Almost. It's easy to set up and easy to use. Cuts straight when you want it to, and can cut mild curves too. I plan to get one for my personal workshop in the near future.

Need HelpI bought this cutter about 3 years ago. It works great, I never had a problem with it until now. While cutting metal bands off a wine barrel the Material Foot which keeps the tension spring on the cutter came off. I have called customer support for help reattaching the tension spring—no help, other than good luck. I've taken the cutter apart and have tried to reattach the spring to no avail. Any help out there? I just need the sequence of how the spring is attached. Thanks

A nice shear and reasonably priced. This shear is just what I was hoping it would be. It seems to be sturdy, well constructed, and easy to use. I'm using it to cut silver, brass, and copper sheet for jewelry making. It gives a nice clean edge and saves time over trying to hand saw a straight line, which then requires filing and sanding to true up the edge. I am very happy with this shear.

And then press with a small sheer does a great jobWell built it does a great job even on heavy material.
Will this shear 1/4" thick by 1/2" wide aluminum? I use aluminum trim in my upholstery shop a lot and its a pain using grinders.

What is the width and depth of the machine? How much bench space does the machine itself take up. I know extra may be needed left or right for the metal.

We recently moved and I assume a bolt loosened in transport is responsible for the spring in my bench shear popping out of the fixed location on the upper blade attachment. What can we use to apply tension and re set that spring into position?
Asked by: Sylmeister
I'm not sure honestly, I've never encountered this. Those coil springs can be very challenging to reclock and install if they have a lot of tension.

Would this be good for shearing .032” spring steel?
Asked by: Lucky1
With spring steel being a little harder than mild steel, you may wear blades slightly faster than most guys but I think they would still have long life since the thickness is much smaller than capacity. In any case, we do offer replacement blades if you can't sharpen yours or they are worn out #20456.

please clarify the cutting thickness. On the video it shows uo to 3/16 in small widths. I am wondering if it could handle 3/16 material to make a cut 26" or what is the real meanin of "small widths"
