Eastwood 80 Amp ARC 80 Inverter Stick Welder

Product Overview:

Description

Light weight inverter based stick welder that gives you the portability to weld anywhere that there is a 110 volt outlet. Easy to setup and easy to use, this welder can weld steel, stainless steel and cast iron.

The Eastwood ARC 80 Inverter Stick Welder Features:

  • Inverter Power 20 to 80 amps (90 amp peak)
  • Duty Cycle – 20% at 80 amps
  • Infinite amperage control
  • Electrode Size (in.) - 1/16, 5/64 or 3/32
  • Light weight 11 lbs
  • 110 volt service (20 amp recommended)
  • Hot Start – Raises amperage when striking an arc to prevent the electrode from sticking to the work piece
  • Anti-Stick – Like Hot Start, the machine will fluctuate amperage when needed to keep your electrode from sticking to the work piece while welding

The Hot Start helps even the beginner welder strike an ARC every time. The anti-stick feature enables easy welding without frustrating rod stick. Infinite amperage settings from 20 to 80 amps (90 amp peak) for welding up to 1/8 steel on a single pass. Thicker material can be welded with multiple passes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My new best friend. I bought this welder for two small jobs at our beach house, my mig wouldn't work well in a sea breeze. In a years time I have put 30 lbs of rod thru it . I have definitely used it more than expected . Great product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lived through 3 days under water! I purchased this lil welder in 2016. Used it few time but was put up after I got a mig. Hurricane florance came through and my whole first floor was under about 7 feet of water for 3day. Today I just got around to trying out some power tools. Mig was dead as could be. But this lil guy fired up and still welds great! So thank you Eastwood for the great quality!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ARC Stability I've owned it a month & used it a few times. Impressed with the arc stability & power for a 110 unit. I've been a certified steam fitter welder for 47 years , & know what i'm talking about. GOOD product for light duty work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Eastwood ARC 80 inverts stick welder I only used it once so far but a done great welding wasn't too good it was my fault. Because that was the first time I ever used a welder plus the welding helmet I got made it way too dark to see the product the way I could get a straight well. And I used it on a generator it was easy to move around the welder it was real lightweight and it worked great. And they are fast shipping I think I placed the order for the Father's Day and I received it in about 3 to 4 days time. It was easy to use and it would be good for a beginner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful little inverter Having owned both the harbor freight 80 amp inverter and this welder, I can honestly say this welder is much more powerful. I've had two of the harbor freight inverter welders, and they both failed within 90 days. I'm hoping for better longevity out of this one. This welder is even able to run some 1/8" rods. The only 3/32 inch rod I was not able to run was a Lincoln red 6010. I was able to run various 3/32" 7018 no problem. 3/32" Radnor stainless 309L-16 ran great. Even 1/8"Harbor freight 6011 actually ran pretty well! The stinger and ground clamp are of excellent quality, however the leads are short at only 6 1/2 feet each. The fan sounds pretty weak. I was surprised at the power you can get from only 110 V! So far I'm very happy with this welder and would highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Stable Arc For some background, I am a contract chassis trailer and container repair technician for Union Pacific. I use a (Lets call it something a tiny bit different to appease Eastwood's rules) Kangaroo 145 at work to make repair welds to 53' container trailers and high box containers with 7018 (for trailers) and 6013 (for containers.) The Kangaroo is an engine driven welder, and has outputs for 120v and 240v, and is an engine driven DC stick welder. The machine is great, so great in fact that when I need to weld with no prep, I bring my Eastwood Arc 80 out paired with 3/32 6011 electrodes on DCEN and plug into the Kangaroo. The arc on the Arc 80 is significantly more stable, and with the Arc 80's hot start, starting the arc is just as natural as starting a wire-fed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great welder for light TIG and introduction to TIG I've had my ARC 80 for almost a year now and it's been a great introduction to TIG welding. I'll probably upgrade eventually, but you can't beat the price and quality for getting started. Very happy with it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little welder lots of power well made. I Bought this little to do some small jobs. This welder. Welds great can weld larger stuff with a couple of passes . IT has lots of power and works great with 6013 and 6010 rods

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice little welder Overall I am pleased with this purchase, great little machine for not a lot of money. And it's size and weight cannot be beat! If there is anything id like to see as an update would be a, "super arc 80+". Some kind of kit to add 20 or more amps to be able to run 7018 3/32 a little better. Otherwise, good machine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product Purchased to weld fences, gates, repair Windows gates to install A/C units, sometimes on a latter or scaffold when my Eastwood Mig 135 is a bit uncomfortable. It is a great, easy to use and powerful enough. Good penetration on 1/4" on a slow single pass.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buy With Confidence!!! I bought this specifically for fence and gate work around our small farm and couldn't be happier with it. Easy arc start, smooth operating. Handles 2 3/8" pipe well, great for hanging and repairing gates. There are cheaper units out there, but none with Eastwood's warranty and support. I've owned an Eastwood MIG for years, and thier support (the one time I needed it) was excellent. Recommend without reservation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Welder Good Product - Good Price. easy to use and easy to transport.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Arc welder Yeah, I'm an old-timer - call stick welders arc. Anyway, very nice, solid welder that works well with 3/32" and 5/64" 6013 electrodes. I upgraded both cables to # 4 with a better ground clamp that I had sitting around, and it made a much improved noticeable difference.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Problems with the heat range. This is a good welder. I am the problem . I wanted to weld to tent stakes, 1/8 in. In diameter, side by side. I'm learning to welld. I have a Lincoln stick welder. With what I have welded. With the tent stakes I'm either Too hot or too cold. I'm using the several rods you sent me. I can't give and accuret account on how good your model 80 stick welder does. I wish I could. So here you go.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Short duty cycle, but good welds Nice pretty welds, but short duty cycle. Tried 3 different sticks by running a 2-3 inch bead and it shut off. Good for small jobs though, compact and light weight.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from does not work well it is very hard to get the tig to work without burning out the tip. Does not work very well at all. I was hoping for better. But I guess you get what you pay for. Was hoping not to spend a grand on a tig welder

it says in the directions to plug the electrode cable into the negative terminal and the ground clamp into the positive terminal for stick welding.. isnt that backwards causing a shallow weak weld?

Polarity will be dependent on the electrode used. both electrodes positive and electrode negative are possible but it will be dependent on the rod.
