Very useful for auto repair
This thermometer has a good range for checking engine parts temperature, header temperatures, motors, water pumps etc. Very repeatable and easy to use.

Will this device be right to detect temperatures in walls around windows
This will simply tell you the temperature of the wall where the laser hits. It will not measure internal temperatures.
