Rated 4 out of 5 by from Roll on Purchased this bead roller and the additional set of dies. Found that it would require two people to operate which for me was not an option. Replaced the crank handle with a wheel, problem solved. The bolt that holds the arm down stripped out almost on the first or second run. Rethreaded the hole and spot-welded a nut on top to give more bite. Got to work with the new set up and it worked like a charm with crisp beads and nice bends. Could use a spring to lift the top arm when loose to make it easier to change the dies. For the price plus a little time it is a good buy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to use I bought this unit to replace an Eastwood unit that I had sold some years ago. When it was delivered it was like old home week , easy to use, great results just a great product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Price Quality Construction Compared this roller with many others, Eastwood roller constructed heavier than the others (1/2" vs others 3/8) and cost is less. It came with two threaded holes in it, so I made a stand for it, should work perfect, I hope they come out with other mandrels that work with this. I'll start making panels next week.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Buy ! Received in two days, was packed well with no damage. I was able to bead metal within minutes. Read other reviews before purchase,no negetive surprises.Would be nice if manual had more information to maximize potential and save time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to use right out of the box I set it up in a large vise. I then ignored the material listed there. After I re-red the instuctions I was able to achieve good results. With the heavier materials I found it needed some extra plates to be welded to the top arm to keep it from wondering in a few instances with 18 G sheet metal, and perhaps i was doing some thing wrong too. All in all a great tool for any one needing to do a little beading project for you and a few friends. If it were stiffer on the top or cheaper this is a great deal and tool collection starter for metal fabrications.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bead rooler works for less $$$ After setting up in my vise , that was a snap, I started to experiment with different thichnesses and found it worked as described and best with 20 gauge sheet metal. Although I rated the value lwoer thanmost it was becasue of the wondering top arm onn 18 gauge material some times. Maybe I was doing it wrong but the results for the money are good enough to make it a good deal If it were a little cheaper this would be a very great deal. I will be adding a heaveier plate to stabilize the top arm soon. THen i will purchse the louver die !! All in all it is over all something that you can buy for less and achive good reults when yopu follow the instructions !!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works Great I bought this bead roller knowing I have a lot to learn. The results from the tool are great, thought the durability of the tool is average. I pulled it out of the box and one of the grease zirk's was broken and there is a small nick in one of the dies from a small burr of metal on the edge of a piece of sheet metal. Otherwise the results from using the tool are fantastic.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Had some prolems at first The first thing so far is all the zerts broke off. The dies that were on it when it was delivered are good, the blocks holding the shafts can not be tightened down. When you do the shafts won't move. I don't know if I got a bad one or not.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not the best Out of the box I could hardly turn the handle, very stiff. After I honed the bushings out and reassembled the unit it worked ok. Noticed a quite a bit of flex in the upper arm, will probably weld some square tube to it to stiffen it up. For the money it's OK.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Quality lacking First roller I purchased was beat up pretty bad, every zert fitting broke-off, two thirds of the dies would not fir the shaft, and tightening the shaft pillar blocks locked the the shaft from turning. I complained and they picked it up for return at no charge and sent me a new one..Great Service! Next unit: tightening the pillar blocks do not lock the shafts, Had to realign the shafts and gears, but the Worst was the zerts...they are brass and were all loose and when I went to grease the shafts they still break-off. I had to replace them with steel zerts. I still have to file the chamfers on the dies to get them to slide on easy. I was disappointed that the instructions were not more in depth. they are very unclear as to setup and the use of the dies. The few pieces I have rolled took about 3 passes to complete. If you do to much at once the plate bends and pushes the top die away from the plate changing the metal shape...NOT good! but I worked around that issue. This roller at least NEEDS 3 updates; 1. Add a wheel the the depth screw(at least 3" diameter) 2. Add a spring to the upper block so it automatically releases/raises the upper die when the pillar nut is loosened. 3. Add a handle to the upper pillar block nut to make iut easier to loosen/tighten. For the money this roller is usable/workable. Just plan on some modifications and taking it slow.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not top quality but usable The first item i have been disappointed with from Eastwood. the frame flexes pretty badly when using on 18 through 20 gauge metal. bad enough that the work is messed up. and the dies i got with mine were pretty rough. I would have exchanged it but the shipping charge makes it not worth the exchange..

Rated 3 out of 5 by from dies are not very good the machine work on the dies is poor at best the bead dies don't match and the finish on all of them is not very good. The dies you sold several years ago were a lot better quality.
Date published: 2013-03-06
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bead roller Quality of drive gears very soft. Ellen set screws strip out and cannot tighten enough to keep from moving on shafts. Louvre dies soft and rounded edges on 22g cold roll. Not pleased with quality
