Just need one stick to fill in where the rust had etched the metal.

Beautiful to work with
I own a professional Jeep restoration shop, classicjeeprestorations.com, and we love working with the Eastwood body solder. Reliably the same, works like butter, a joy to use. We do not buy our body solder from anywhere else.

Led Sled
I haven't used this stuff since the early 70's. I hated bondo, and got out of the business. I'm using this again, in fabricating and/or repairing motorcycle fenders and tanks. Now that I can afford sheet metal fabrication equipment (All Eastwood), I'm going back into custom vehicles. Not that many supply houses carry lead/tin filler.

Body Solder Stick
Purchased to smooth steal hood molding to hood on my 1950 truck..Recommended as long as you have Solder Flux/butter on hand. It was far better and easier then welding and didn't warp the metal. Recommended but it does take some getting use too.

What tool do you heat the metal with? What wattage solder gun ect...
I personally use a torch.
a solder gun that will produce enough heat to melt the material

What is the area coverage of one stick in square inches, assuming a puddle depth of 1/8"? Do I have to allow for shrinkage when calculating the number of sticks I need? What type of flux does Eastwood recommend for this solder?
- Each stick will cover about a 4” x 6” area 1/8” deep.
- No, it won’t shrink. Lead does not shrink as filler will.
- Eastwood 31043 Tinning Butter for “flux” and 31016 Tallow to keep the Lead form sticking to the surface.
- Best way is to buy the 31125A Kit. Has all ya need including that great “How to” DVD

When the lead is perfectly clean can you apply your bondo directly over it?
We would recommend priming the part with our Epoxy primer first to seal up the lead and create and excellent surface for you to begin applying body filler.

Hello There, May I know will the part that been covered by the body solder affect the quality of the painting of the car in anyway ?
As long as it is properly prepped, meaning cleaned thoroughly, flux is all removed, ect, and an epoxy is used over it before any other work. It will not harm the paint.

Is this sand able? Unlike lead. If this is able to be sanded that would make the perfect finish
