Specifications
BASECOAT PAINT MIXING RATIOS
Thoroughly mix four parts Low-VOC Urethane Basecoat with one part Low-VOC Urethane Activator. Use Fast (50308ZP) for small jobs, or temps below 75°F; Medium (50309ZP) for small jobs, or temps between 70-85°F; or Slow (50310ZP) for large jobs, or temps above 80°F. Keep in mind, other factors, such as humidity, air flow and total film thickness should also be considered. In many situations, it will be useful to add 10%-20% 50104ZP Zero-VOC Reducer to aid sprayabliity, flow and leveling. Remember, this is an activated basecoat system; only mix as much as is needed. Pot life is about 2 hours at 70°F.

Basecoat should dry dust-free within 10-20 minutes. May be lightly sanded in as few as 20 minutes. Wait at least 30 minutes before wet sanding. Wait 45-90 minutes before taping on the fresh film. All dry times are approximate, at 70°. Temperature, air flow, total film thickness and other variable may extend these times.

Questions & Answers
Does the bright white come in quart size.
We do not have any basecoat in quart sizes.

Is this a match to the factory gm “bright white” from the mid 90s?
This would be our closest resemblance to the color in reference. It may not be an exact match though.

Would bright white, or pure white be closer to ford's OE performance white? I'm painting a crown vic, the whole car so its not a color match issue its just me trying to get close without spending $500 on just the base coat, from a company I don't know.
The Bright white has a little of a bluish hew to it whereas the pure white is plain white. This will be a decision that the eye will need to make, as we do not color match.

Hot in the Midwest- I have medium activator and I am painting a CJ7 but temps are in the mid 90’s this week. Most of my jobs are small, hood, tailgate, windshield, do I need the slow activator or am I ok with the medium and a 20% reduction?
If you are up into the mid 90's more than likely you will need to slow activator to ensure proper flow out to achieve a smooth finish. Surely a quick mix of a very small batch could tell you how it will spray with medium activator which has been reduced.

i ordered a sample chart and this white looks nothing like the pictures. it is almost gray and not a bright white at all. is my sample chart flawed? im looking for a really bright white.
Our Pure white is the brightest white we offer.

Will I need more than 1 gallon to paint whole car and trim? Normally its 1:1 ratio which would give 2 gallons, this is 4:1 so I'm think I'm going to need more?
Generally when painting an entire car exterior plus jambs and under hood we recommend 2 gallons to give enough paint.
