Customer Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from User friendly and great product. Worked great on gas tank for a bike but I'm thinking since I have no idea and have never done body work or even painted a ingle thing in my life out side of rust oleum type stuff the polyester might be more the way to go with fenders but I'm fixing a wrecked bike so with all the videos and help from the east wood guys in Chicago I'd say this stuff is awesome cause I'm sure some of the mishaps or what have you has nothing to do with the great product that they have put together for guys like me and maybe you to take on some challenges we normally would not have. So dive in and start learning something new it's affordable and why not learn something or save some money from the guy down the street when he is going to do something you could be doing for less than a 100 bucks. Kudos to this company for the great line of 2 k areo spray stuff just wish there were more colors in the paint line up is my only draw back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2K Aero-Spray Urethane Primer It sprays on very smooth and really is easy to sand (dry or wet).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outboard engine cowling paint application I used this product on two outboard engine cowlings. The results met my expectations. Be sure to spray in a dedicated space or use curtains to prevent stray particles from getting on nearby work space. Sanded easily and provided a good surface for the base and clear coats. I was very satisfied with results.

Questions & Answers

How many sq. Ft will one can cover. I have 2 smaller pieces totaling about 5-6 sq. Ft and I want to do at least 2, 3 if possible coats. Should I get 2 cans or is one ok

Asked by: Subi37
Each can is rated to cover approximately 10-16 square feet depending on thickness of application. I would go 2 cans but do not activate can 2 until needed.

Can I spray this directly to Fiberglass (epoxy resin)? Or should I spray a epoxy primer first? Weight is important in this case.

Asked by: Oliver
Since there will be no bare metal you can skip the epoxy and go right to this primer over properly prepped fiberglass.

Just had my transmission vapor blasted. Do I still need to prime it since it’s down to raw aluminum? If so what are the recommended products I need?

Asked by: Yarb
Yes, a primer would be needed. Self Etching primer or Epoxy primer would be your best options.

After applying the urothane primer, can I wet sand it? Or will it mess up the coat?

Asked by: Tyson70
This primer will absorb moisture so dry sanding would be your best approach.

I have a 74 dart i am working on, i have stripped original paint and primed with rustoleum self etch primer. I am now going to start using eastwoods premium body filler to start straightening my panels. What primer would be best for on top of it

Asked by: nathanpaul
Now that you have rustoleum on your car the best thing you can do would be to stick with the same brand. Switching brands in the middle of a paint job could be disastrous.

We have never tested this product with the compatibility of Duplicolor Primer. Therefore, we can not recommend this overtop of that product.

Is this the right product to for a plastic bumper cover? What are the right steps and product recommended for a plastic bumper cover? I guess I need to use an adhesion promoter before this, but should I use an epoxy primer before this product?

Asked by: TaoM
First step would be to apply an Adhesion promoter such as: https://www.eastwood.com/adhesion-promoter-aerosol-14-75-net.html. Then you can apply your Urethane primer- block sand smooth and apply your paint.

After I apply my epoxy primer over my bare metal spots, and then cover the entire area with the urethane primer, can I leave it as is without sealing it since I wont be fully painting it for a decent amount of time?

Asked by: jtholman
You should just leave it in the Epoxy Primer, than when your ready to finish your project, than go ahead with you Urethane Primer
